PATH Train Derails in Hoboken, 6 Injured

(New York-WABC, July 19, 2004) — Eyewitness News has learned that a PATH train has been derailed in Hoboken, injuring six.

The train crashed into a train stop at the Hoboken station.
The Port Authority tells us the accident happened just after 3 p.m., and that six minor injuries have been reported.

The train was headed to Hoboken from NYC. We don't know how many people were aboard the train, how fast the train was going at the time of the accident, or why the train slammed into the train stop.

There has however been a large turnout by emergency workers, with fire companies showing up from nearby communities as well.

No train delays are currently being reported.
