Trains crash head-on in Czech

ONE person died and about 30 people were injured when two passenger trains collided head on in the south of the Czech Republic today, a Czech railways spokesman said.
The crash happened in Blanice near the town of Strakonice shortly before 3pm (11pm AEST), said spokesman Jan Kucera, adding that the two train drivers were being treated in hospital.
Around five of those treated in hospital had serious injuries, he added.
The cause of the accident was not yet clear.
