Contrary to the conventional wisdom of Sammy's 'research' I've been around here a long time and have most often tried to reason with conservatives who go over board with their criticism of the left. It doesn't help the conservative agenda to demonize those whose beliefs are off center. I don't have a problem with hyperbolic demolition of the extreme fringes, especially those that have reached the level of common terrorists and thugs on the right and the left..
Pat Buchanan is a racist bigot. So is the message of the Congressional Black Caucus. They both enjoy free speech. It's not my fault that the general media doesn't dare question the high and mighty in the CBC. They are racists, pure and simple. I am not certain they are bigots since I have not taken the time to get that close to their religious tenets.
The point is that we are guilty of racism everytime we condemn a entire species for the actions of a few simply because they are in the same group. We are bigots if we describe other religious beliefs as abominations. Who gets the most criticism? The Catholics, Jews and Muslims simply because their faith is so strong and close to the surface. The Christian Fundamentalists have come under more attack ever since the Reverends Falwell and Robertson became lightning rods for exposing the rot infesting the left. Many on the left believe they are bigots and racists. I don't. And as a matter of fact I find their messages to be generally on the positive side.
The 'proof' you seek is in the postings of many of SJackson's attack list who condemn all Muslims and Palestinians out of hand and accuse traditionally liberal American Jews as self-hating simply because we have hopes for a different solution to solving the terrible puzzle in the ME. Are some of Sammy's list more obnoxiously racist than others? Sure. Donald is a screaming loon. You? I don't believe I've ever come across your stuff before and if I have and replied I have no memory of it...However. Get this straight. If you are a member of Sammy's list and you have not objected to some of his and Donald's more absurd rants then you are guilty of allowing your message to become one with the pluguglies.

I'll repeat one more time. I don't like the settlements. I don't like Kahane. I don't like the JDL. I don't like Abe Foxman of the west coast ADL. I am a member of the ADL and I don't know anyone I've associated with over the years who likes Abe either. I've never accused Sammy of being an 'agent' of the ADL. I don't think we have any. I tolerate Perez, loathe Sharon and wish Netanyahu hadn't developed such high priced tastes serving here which led him down the greedy path, so unlike most Israeli politicians.
As to the loudmouths on the West Coast that include Babs and her ilk I have nothing but contempt for them. But just as Sammy and Donald don't get to decide who is a Jew and who isn't, I don't get to decide who is a Democrat and who isn't. I wish we were all back where we were when the AFL-CIO included men like Reuther and they were the bulwark of the Democratic Party. Well, that isn't true anymore and we are stuck with some really disgusting creatures including all the Clintons and their cronies, Chuckie in the Senate and Silver in the State Senate...But I still like Koch and Dinkins and don't like Giulianni.
I believe we can all serve together as long as the rules allow for some elements of gray. I've never voted a straight ticket in my life and I don't insist on the purity of mind in all the folks I know...and finally I like President Bush and just wish he would can some of the jerks in his employ starting with Rumsfeld and ending with Ashcroft...but, I will do anything I can afford to avoid Kerry/Edwards...but I will still support the return of the Congress to Democratic control. You Republicans are just too damn stupid to legislate...and that is said even while donating to Mr. Hasterts campaigns over the years. It is a shame he has to work with such goons as Delay and bingo cards like Hatch.
