Excerpted from....About Free Republic
"Free Republic is not affiliated with any political party, news source, government agency or any other entity."
and then...
"What is our mission? Free Republic is dedicated to reversing the trend of unconstitutional government expansion and is advocating a complete restoration of our constitutional republic. Listed below are some of the issues we feel strongly about."
and also....
"We also call for the strengthening of our military and defenses; the effective control over illegal immigration and smuggling; the paying down the national debt; and strict control over federal agencies like the CIA and the FBI."

Great principles and no where on this page did I see that this site was dedicated to electing or re electing anyone.
I supported the election of G.W. Bush to carry out the conservative principles I believe in. I also expect him to act like a conservative and not a liberal Democrat on the issue of illegal immigration.

"I supported the election of G.W. Bush to carry out the conservative principles I believe in."

And that's exactly where you went wrong.

George W. Bush told you exactly what he believed in, and detailed what he would do while in office. THAT'S the benchmark you need to use to cast your vote. You want to send leaders to Washington to follow?

This website stands for combatting liberalism and reversing our century long downhill slide into the pits of socialist hell. It does not stand for helping to elect more Democrats. We're at a crossroads here. For one of the very rare times in our history, the Republicans are holding the White House and the Congress. It's an historic opportunity seeing as how we will probably see some turnover in the Supreme Court in the next decade or so. Why would any conservative in his right mind want take the path that allows the liberals to make those appointments?
