U.S. Attorney General John Ashcroft will be in Phoenix Friday to announce new federal resources being dedicated to prosecute illegal immigration and trafficking cases in Arizona.
Ashcroft and U.S. Sen. Jon Kyl will announce the expanded effort Friday.
Kyl, an Arizona Republican, heads the Senate Judiciary Committee's panel on terrorism and homeland security.
Since 9/11, and with increased border security in Texas and California, Arizona has seen a large increase in illegal border crossings and smuggling.
The Bush administration has dedicated more security resources to the border, although some Arizona lawmakers want to see the pace of that effort increased.
I know.
The Bush administration has dedicated more security resources to the border,
What, the drones? They still need people to go physically detain the illegals. Are they getting more agents?
although some Arizona lawmakers want to see the pace of that effort increased.
So do the residents of Arizona.
It does no good to put a million BP agents shoulder to shoulder along the border if they are told not to do their job by some lame-@$$ political prostitutes.
Concerned Americans need to remove about an eigth of an inch of hide from AG Ashcroft too if he refuses to continue the sweeps.
