I live in the Midwest and illegal immigration is not an overwhelming problem here. And, I'm not making any editorial comment about the importance of the issue or the emotion surrounding it. I'm just saying that this interview (well the last 10-12 minutes that I heard) did nothing, IMO, to help your cause. It was taunting and bullying, plain and simple. To neutral observers, Asa Hutchinson was the object of verbal abuse from a punk shock jock. I'm not sure that John is the great ally you think he is. That's all I'm telling you.
Since you are not from Calif. then you don't know how much John's shock and awe has helped on a lot of local issues. I hope he keeps the fire turned up on their Federal butts.
"It was taunting and bullying"
I wish I had been doing the interview, Asa would know what verbal abuse really was!
This says it all. At least you are man enough to say where you live, unlike some of the others who enjoy lecturing Californians on the issue when we actually LIVE with it every day.
Walk a mile in our shoes sometime.
I agree that John does tend rant and I don't agree with everything he says, but he's spoken out against Fienswine and Boxcutter quite frequently> J & K were also very effective in recalling Governor Dufus and fighting aganst Driver's Licenses for illegals.
In this case I think they proved the Emperor has no clothes.
Asa is a perfect gentleman and wrestling on the floor in public is not his style. He is an extremely intelligent and able man dealing with a horrendous and huge problem never faced by any of his counterparts before him.
I say that because the immigration problem has gotten so uncontrollable that if both bodies of gubmint agreed 100% tomorrow morning to throw the entire national might in securing our Southern Border with Mexico it would take at least several years to begin seeing the results throughout America.
Asa is taking the heat, and that's good. But he isn't the one who lit the fire.
The first part of the interview was Asa spouting the same old rhetoric and dodging questions. By the last 10 minutes of the interview, John was fed up. I thought Asa came across like some political hack.
