After being inundated with calls from L.A. listeners, Asa Hutchinson has agreed to go on the show. He's on right now, so be there or be square. Will try to type the good stuff while I listen.
When I was growing up all you had to do was to yell "Immigracion" in a restaurant and the place would clear out. Now if you yell "immigacion," an illegal alien host will calmly walk up to you and ask you in Spanish where you want to sit.
I'm a true native Californian and can assure you from personal observation that if you are enforcing the borders only the bolder ones will continue coming across. I have discussed this with amnestied Mexicans that I have known since the mid 1980's. The guys will come, but leave the family home. This encourages them to work for a while then return home to their families. They don't just setup house here like they are doing now.
Oh dear. Us folks down here in the South are narrow minded and self centered.
Whatever will we do to redeem ourselves?
Maybe the U.N. could re-educate us.
For one - make it law that at least one parent of a child born or immigrating into this country is a citizen before conferring citizenship on the child.
Two - eliminate welfare as a career, limit benefits so those Americans that won't do those jobs Americans won't do won't be paid not to do them.
Third - penalize felon companies/businesses/individuals who aid/hire Illegals to the point of bankruptcy, or close them completely.
Fourth - charge elected officials and judges who seek to aid illegals with the same crime counts as would a citizen face under similar charges.
Fifth - require every taxpayer funded program to determine the applicant's legal status before any assistance is considered and require agencies to report fraudulent applicants to authorities.
Sixth - give broad enforcement authority to all LEO's so they can help apprehend illegals.
Seventh - eliminate any chance of apprehended illegals being given "appearance dates". Detain every one until their scheduled deportation.
Last - place bounties on illegals, absconders, and their felon aids and publish their names.
By "provincial", I meant SoCal, which is the topic at hand.
Maybe you are right, but as you admit, the problem doesn't go away. In fact, with unattached males in the US, the problem of crime becomes worse.
Hell no, it was John and Ken! Would you prefer listening to Kommie Couric and Matt Lauer pussyfoot around with Mr. Hutchinson?
You know what? I think I'll email Mr. Hutchinson. He says he can't do his job because of all the emails, but apparently he isn't doing his job at all. So he might as well sit on his fat behind and read all the love letters people are probably sending him.

Just how sloppy is America's immigration system? Well, an illegal alien worked in two White Houses. Shown at the left is Salvador Martinez-Gonzalez with Vice President Dick Cheney and his wife Lynn.
So what you're saying is, in effect, if we can't close off ALL the entrances at once, but COULD close the most vulnerable one, we still have to leave them ALL open? What sense does that make? (Answer: as much sense as bringing up Boxer and FineSwine in each post of yours... which is to say, none whatsoever...)
I worked in LA manufacturing district in the early 80's and it was still the same then. All they had to do was see the green immigration vehicles and you would have a ghost town.
I agree, but it'll take a constitutional amendment, not a mere act of Congress, to get that accomplished. (And this isn't because of a dumbass SCOTUS decision. Due to what most scholars view as a drafting oversight, the 14th Amendment itself -- the text -- states that someone born here is a citizen.) In most countries, a child at birth acquires the citizenship status (or lack thereof) of its mother, as of the time of the birth.
If you're among those tying up his phone lines, at least you should have an idea of what you want him to do.
Why should I, an American Taxpayer, have to tell him how to do his job?
"Fix it" is not a proper job description. You have to be specific and if you can't, you should try to elect people who can. You need to read my rant and get a grip on exactly how massive this problem is.
Torie is right. There's a demand side here. But even that is hard to get a hold of. You can't go after every single contractor who hires an illegal immigrant for 3 months. You're going to be complaining forever.
That's an understatement. He refused about 10 direct opportunities from John to deny or confirm whether the sweeps would start up again.
Since you're a foreigner, I think it's time you quit telling Californians what to do!
being a 5th generation So. Californian I consider anyone imigdrating from another state to be a foreigner, along with the illegals they have totally corrupted a the good state that I was born and raised in!
Raul Ortiz Gonzalez is another of the many violent creatures let loose on innocent children by border anarchy and permissive interior enforcement of immigration. An illegal alien from Mexico, he is accused of shaking two-year-old toddler Mariella De Luna to death as a result of internal head injuries, specifically hemorrhaging to the brain and retinas. Gonzalez was the unemployed live-in boyfriend of the child's mother. The crime occurred in Franklin, Indiana, demonstrating that violent crimes by illegal aliens are no longer just the problem of southwestern states. Local police have been unable to find Gonzalez and believe he may have escaped to Mexico.
Blame it on California and Boxer....
The Hispanic population will continue to grow faster than others.
Amnesty will not stop illegal immigration...
But some form of amnesties and illegal immigration with both continue into the foreseeable future.
Also, illegal immigrants will not be deported won't happen.
Few will leave of of their own accord. Living in squalor here probably beats living in squalor in their home countries.
And a two language nation (like Canada) may very well evolve here.
Meanwhile, the growing illegal population grows the underground economy...
And the underground economy is a drain on the national economy.
A massive subculture is the last thing we need.
Presently, most illegals live in poverty...
And people living in poverty tend to be a big Democrat constituancy.
Illegals, by definition, are fugitives...
And more fugitives will cause more problems as they prey on us to survive. It's already happening and increasing.
Therefore, they will be legalized (via amnesty) and they will become voters.
They will also become tax payers.
How many potential voters are we talking about?
No party can afford to concede that many votes. That's the political reality.
If we don't assimilate them under our terms, they will assimilate themselves under their own terms.
Without assimilation, all the problems you can think of will become more and more unmanageable and much more expensive to solve.
This all represents the price we will pay for generations of open borders.
No one party alone will fix the problem, but the two major parties working together can make a big difference. Don't count on the Democrats to help. They want the current and potential millions of votes.
