To be consistent in your philosophical position, we must deny that it is possible to determine a proper purpose for any biological function, since nothing could ever have been designed for any purpose.

This position absolutely undermines any type of scientific endeavor. For example, the proper object of medicine is to restore the proper operation of the body. If we deny a proper object of various biological systems, then we have to deny that there are proper bodily operations for physicians to restore.
