Pilot suggested passengers discuss Christianity during LA-to-New York flight

An American Airlines pilot flying passengers from Los Angeles to New York asked Christians on board to identify themselves and then suggested that non-Christian passengers discuss the faith with them, the airline confirmed Saturday.

The pilot, whose identity was not released, had been making flight announcements before he asked that the Christians on board raise their hands, said American Airlines spokesman Tim Wagner.

And for your other post to me.... you don't even know me. Don't call me a reprobate. You didn't answer my question on whether you wanted the pilot to tell the guy next to you to begin telling you all about his religion for the duration of the flight. Very few plane customers want or need the help of the pilot or the guy next to them on the plane. And paying customers get what they want or they don't fly your airline.

I come to that conclusion after reading some of the replies here. The point is most think he should have been shut up...The point is he had every right to speak as he did. His employer has every right to determine what to do about it...Sounds to me like the pilot has his priorities right where they should be...That's the kind of stuff that will get you mocked, fired or killed... I applaud his bravery and his love for the Lord.

Since no one asked for your witness. Its the same reason that the Jehovah's Witnesses get so many doors slammed in their face day after day. If people wanted to hear about Jesus from the likes of the Jackson family they would go to Church or call a minister. Not get dragged away from giving their kid a bath or doing the laundry. There is a time for everything and a pilot intruding on his customers is no different than a county sherrif setting up a road block and forcing everyone going through his town to hear his personal witness.
