Go into business for yourself- I have seen so many bad contractors out there I thought I would be grateful for one honest man- I thought I might start a new business doing that myself- I figure if these kinds of people were in business I could make a fortune just by showing up and doing a good job.

I was in my own business for 8 years. 9-11 put me out.
The cost of liability and comp insurance went thru the roof.
Basically quadroupled, I gave up, it was tough enough to get work before hand. That made it even worse cause we have to pass of the cost to the customer.
I may do it by myself if I do it this time. No employees.
I just want to stick to carpentry work. Kitchens are my favorite, but I also love to build decks and custom carpentry. Interior trim, custom cabinets, doors etc....
You could say I'm back in business now, there is no work to speak of out there. You live in Clarence don't you?
