Can you explain the differences in Reagan's 1986 amnesty plan and this one?Sheer volume, for starters. We're looking at AMNESTY for somewhere around 25 million ILLEGAL Aliens!
Next, is the long-term, intentional dismantling of national sovereignty- something NO OTHER PRESIDENT HAS DARED TO PROPOSE.
Reagan never proposed anything even close to this, in long-term damage. And that damage will be on several fronts- the economic one, the one of National Security, the area of national sovereignty and national CULTURE...
W. proposes to turn the USA into a nation-wide barrio.

Just a lot of your rhetoric and paranoid predictions. But not one example of how they are different. Do you see why very few Americans, relatively, share your level of concern over this?

I don't buy the argument that it will be a detriment to this country economically even if all 25 million sent their paychecks back to Mexico, that still leaves 250 million legalized Americans to stimulate the economy. That's a 10:1 ratio. I don't buy the argument that it will be a detriment to our national security, when it's a fact that the military saw a huge boost in volunteers, mostly from illegal aliens, who subsequently got citizenship granted to them before they were shipped to Afghanistan. Even if 25 million did come in, who's to say all 25 million will want to remain in the shadows and stay illegal? Good arguments, but they all fall short of their marks.
