Except votes . .
Reality is hard to accept for some people. Democracy is even harder. The President is not a dictator- he doesn't rule by decree. He has to be mindful that his party gets about 50% of the vote in this country. Sometimes more, sometimes less. At least half the voters in this country would not support a pure conservative candidate. So, Bush can either make some compromises and be 75% conservative, or he can try to go the whole hog and watch the Dems take the White House and Congress.
Maybe anti-Bush FReepers would feel better with Dean in the White House? If not, what's the alternative to Bush.
Politics means accepting the lesser of two evils. Grown-ups understand that. Children stamp their feet and demand ideological/moral purity.
Amen.
It's like asking someone who they want to win the Super Bowl. You can say "neither team" and that you just don't care (which is fine), but to name some team that lost earlier in the playoffs, just because they are your favorite team, is what a 6-year-old would do.
