Hmmm, since Mr. Schindler has made strong statements on national television why hasn't Mr. Schiavo sued Mr. Schindler. If anyone has opened himself to such a lawsuit, clearly it would be Mr. Schindler, in fact, I believe Mr. Schindler welcomed such a lawsuit. (and bsome members of the national media) If Mr. Schiavo intends to sue anyone, why hasn't he proceeded against Mr. Schindler?

I can at anytime express my view or opinion based on testimony or anything else without anyone having any chance of filing slander! Slander or Libel has to be a statement that one made knowing it is false and it has to harm someone usually monetarily.

Furthermore what about someone who attempts to come on a board that is specifically set up for people to express their opinions and attempts to intimidate those not to exercise their protected right to free speech? I would be more concerned about someone filing a counter suit that this person attempted to usurp others constitutional right to free speech, got it bozo!!!!

If there were going to be any lawsuits against FReepers for posting this "libelous" information than why weren't any made against the SCHINDLERS and THE HOSPICE PATIENTS ALLIENCE. Well over 90 percent of the "libelous" information being posted here originated on www.terrisfight.org, www.hospicepatients.org and related web sites from assorted Right To Life and Disabled Advocates organizations.

If I had to guess, the people making the hysterical accusations are largely judgment proof. Even if they own a home, their double wide is protected by the homestead exemption. Moreover, even if a judgment could be collected against them, they would only rejoice in the opportunity to be a martyr for their cause.

There is even one poster on this forum who was represented by some dimestore outfit that makes Klayman look like a Clarence Darrow. She got her ass handed to her and has posted vanities on a semi-regular basis complaining about her plight. Yet we learn that she is still involved in other (similar) litigation.

Now we have people suing their doctors for malpractice, even though they have suffered no injuries. So much for all those complaints re frivolous lawsuits...

One of the things that most attracted me to the conservative cause was its intellectual honesty. This honesty has been crumbling over the past several years. Does anyone notice? Does anyone even care?

And the rivers of vitriol have run wide and deep in their rush to replace reasoned discourse!

The charge that you've attempted to "stifle free speech", as well, have been a source for much amusement.

I have to admit I am confused....The Title of your thread does not correspond well with the warning in your first post.

Is this thread going to be discussing Federal Law or Florida State law?

It's obviously a popular thread, but before I slog through it maybe you can tell me which level of defamation, libel, or slander laws we're talking about.
