Democracy is a bad thing, yes. Because a democracy, by it's very nature, quickly turns into Mobocracy. When it's "Majorty Rule" then individual Rights can be stomped by the majority.

In a constitutional republic, however, the theory is that Individual Rights are not at the mercy of the majority.

Make sense?

I think the problem a lot of Freepers have is that they confuse "Democracy" with "mob rule." There's no real difference between a constitutional Democracy and a constitutional republic. Or am I missing something?
