Yep. One must have fallen off the plate and rolled behind the coffee maker.....that's where I found it. *giggle*

She really does look like me when I first wake up. My hubby doesn't speak to me til I've been up for at least an hour. ROTFLOL!

Chok-lit donuts are a great midnight snack. I just have to dig around a little to find one that's fallen off the plate and hidden behind the coffee maker. *giggle* I've got a nose for chok-lit.

Well, I know that I can't sing.
And painting is slightly beyond my skill for the time being.

"Terminally P.O'd Chick" was drawn from some odd dream I had that left a lasting image stuck in my skull.
(Usually how it goes with my drawings.)
But it really didn't come together(oddly enough) until I was sitting on the mother-in-law's back porch (avoiding confrontation as usual) and saw a pattern in the grass that resembled the face and pose in the final sketch.
(The dress and attitude in the image was already there, I just needed the rest of it.)
But, quite literally, I looked down in the grass and there was a P.O'd face looking back.
So i grabbed a sheet of paper and did a quick sketch, which quickly became the final. (Strange how an image can have two seperate, and different, origins. Yet with drawing that seems to be the case quite often.)

On Patches and Bears



I remember the day I patched
the patches
on Baby bear's face..
No ordinary patches, these--
salvaging his love-worn frame
and her sinking heart.
No, this was a careful weaving...
weaving of threads into the fragile
cloth of his being.
"He can't be mended again," I'd said,
but she'd insisted there must be
a way.
So, lovingly, I tended his wounds
until his face was a web of tangled threads
binding scraps of bulging foam.

She thanked me, then
kissed him
and proudly carted him off to kindergarten
for show-and-tell.

Overlooking his blemishes,
his disgrace,
his unsightly mask,
she presented him with honors before
her audience.

I'm sure he was the loveliest bear
in school.

Frayed Patches

Many are worn by life's
friction.
Their insecurities seep
from frayed
patches.
Why is it so hard to see
beyond
their imperfections?
