I don't know what is wrong, but I no sooner get something put up, like lights and greenery, and go to another area, then either the lights I had just finshed with, go out I've been known to trash all of our Christmas lights and run out and buy all new sets...last year was one of those years.
To: HairOfTheDog
Will take a few pics of the outside lights so Corin can show us up later! That's muh job. Gonna get 'em put up tomorrow.

Good evening!
I'm already sick of snow. We got a lot today, and it's still snowing. Roads are pretty bad...presumeably they're waiting for the snow to stop before really doing a decent job of clearing them, or else I just caught the roads at the latest stage between plowing. Luckily it's cold enough that it's just snow and not slushy. Going down hill is more like sledding than driving, but not as bad as it could be. The van is handling better than I thought it might - maybe the extra weight makes up a little for the longer length? In any case, didn't really have any thoroughly frightening moments EXCEPT when a big fat deer jumped out in front of the car and I was a little concerned we wouldn't be able to slide to a stop in time.
They were originally saying we'd get 2-4 inches...then 6-10...then 10-18...now saying 12-24. Hm. I think we already got at least ten, judging from what I've shoveled so far...probably more like 12. I'm hoping I don't wake up to another whole foot of the stuff.
I admit, though...it's awfully purty out there!
I come around and everyone leaves...what's up wit dat?

I'm still here. Not sure for how long.

I'm here. PE went to bed really early, and I, um, drank too much tea today. I am gonna be up a while yet.
The sourdough loaf didn't turn out as well as I had hoped. It didn't rise like I wanted it to. I made a second challah loaf, and it just got done baking. It is much bigger than the first one. In the mornin, when it has had ample time to cool, I will get a photo posted.

Unless you wanted to help my mother-in-law clean out her carport, her furnace room, and her tool shed . . . :-D
The Lipizzaners were a reward for 3 days' work!

Wishd I'd thunk of it, but after 10 hours of driving I don't always think straight. Plus, you shoulda SEEN that toolshed - we found most of a '67 Mustang in there, windshield, trunk lid, three fenders, an engine block, eight cylinders in a shoebox, and a left hand door. Plus two boxes of parts for a 1918 Cadillac, a windshield from a bugeye Sprite, a wood chipper, three lawnmowers, a large box of coal (Santas take note), eighteen window screens, four snow shovels (hmmmm . . . could use those), a block and tackle with 50 feet of rope, eight tomato cages, two drop spreaders, and miscellaneous tractor and tractor accessory parts. And that's just what I remember off the top of my head.
We took two truck loads of "stuff" to the dump (the above is the stuff we SAVED) and that doesn't count what we transferred to the garage . . . which we didn't clean out this year.
My family is known for its pack rats (my grandmother had stuff in her basement from the 1890s) but my late father in law was world class in the pack rat championships. I have never seen so much "stuff" in my life. Some of it is actually valuable.

I understand. We're still moving my m-i-l's stuff here. She's getting rid of a lot. My f-i-l passed away last year after 54 years of marriage.
They lived on a farm during the Depression. My m-i-l has never met a margerine container she could part with...
To: Corin Stormhands
Corin; well, can't seem to get it, just a black screen, hmmm. We'll fire up LSA's 'puter tomorrow AM and see if it'll come in then. Meanwhile, haven't been able to load up the current page past the lab photos for some reason. Hope the church play went well.
Decorating is coming along nicely here, the sun was out this afternoon and Samantha and I took a long walk. Felt quite refreshing for us both.
G'nite All

They lived on a farm during the Depression. My m-i-l has never met a margerine container she could part with... Funny you should mention that . . . my m-i-l always sends us home with chocolate chip cookies in margarine containers - she has two big paper bags full of 'em on the sun porch. Along with the shopping bags, cardboard boxes, well . . . you know the drill.
My in-laws are also children of the Depression. I'm not and neither is my husband, but our garage is full of "stuff" too - just newer "stuff". :-D

g'nite OS. That site may be overloaded with traffic. Try again in the a.m.

My step-father views it differently. He thinks if the pantry is not absolutely stacked to the top that there's no food in the house.
