Good Evening All; The old thread is now history in more than one way, nearly 500 posts in the new Hole.
Still the same down home atmosphere the old one had; but its cleaner, don't see any wood shavings by the bench under the window. Well, guess I'll just have to start scraping on an osage bow, the yellow shavings add a certain touch, as well as marking my place, so to speak.
Wonderful to be here, among friends, now down to reading and posting.

I am very careful for what I pray. Now, I will pray that she have strength to find a happiness in any situation that comes to her. And that if this young man is the right one for her, then please avail her of qualities that will appeal to him.
There is a scene in the book Steinbeck 'Cannery Row' that I will never forget -- having read it as a very young girl -- where the girl having dinner in the old boiler wants to seem appealing to her date. She makes a determined effort to do everything in slow motion, instead of the nervous jerking of her self-conscious fidgeting. It worked for her to mesmerize him, if I remember right. I've tried that one successfully in such situations myself.
