Republican Congresswoman Linda Smith ran against Patty Murray in an attempt to unseat her from the Senate. It didn't work... the mainstream GOP in Washington State was not supportive, and the unions and other big guns in the Democrat arsenal spent millions blasting Smith.

Smith then went to work on behalf of the Afghan women who were being horrendously abused and oppressed under the Taliban regime. This was long before September 11, 2001. She worked hard to get the word out to Americans about the suffering of Afghanistan's women and children, so many of us were well-informed about who the Taliban is when President Bush began our effort to oust them from power and destroy their friends, bin Laden's Al Quaeda.

This makes the hypocrisy of the liberal Democrat "Mom in tennis shoes" Patty Murray all the more glaring as she praised bin Laden for building "day care centers." What a ridiculous LIE!

I know Washington is an extremely liberal State but they have a good crop of fundamentalist Christians there too. We have friends from here who have moved to Burien for awhile. That was possible because he has duel citizenship, one of his parents being American. So when they moved there, since he is a licenced electrician, he was immediately employed and accepted by the Union. Gail, his Wife told me that she just cannot believe the money and benefits they are paid through that union. She said they have a great healthcare plain through the electricians union and so on. But being strong Christians they started going to Casey Treat's church. She raves about it. She says she is involved in a ladies bible study etc. and she says they have a very vibrant Christian community even tho they are plunk in the middle of a very liberal state.

I know she is married but she looks kinda butchy to me!! What an incredibly assinine statement to make. And why aren't the Republicans riding it for everything it's worth? I swear, the Pubbies frustrate me sometimes because they never seem to rise up and FIGHT in appropriate circumstances. The Rats fight even when it's NOT appropriate. He has a great job that he loves, and he has collected bachelor toys for the last 8 years, but decided they aren't as satisfying as he had hoped.... poor baby. I know what he needs.
He's a conservative - VERY conservative! And he's tall - 6'5"! I can wear heels when I'm with him. Cool. He's also VERY good-looking.... and a gentleman.
