Let the RoTK spoiler threads begin!

Yet, said Jackson, the third film is also "more optimistic. It obviously has a resolution. It has a triumphant, biblical-sized kind of action. And it also has incredible sadness. It has incredible sadness. I cry in several places in the film. Wow, I'm getting goosebumps just reading that Hair!

Speaking of goosebumps, I like this paragraph.... I read this story yesterday and remembered it...
"Ultimately, good wins, and if you read the book, you know that," Wood said. "But the beauty of Tolkien and the way the books are written is that, yes, ultimately good triumphs over evil, but at what cost? That's what's great about the third film. Our heroes have won but have also lost massive pieces of themselves and will carry those scars for the rest of their lives."
I really like Elijah Wood alot. The kid is wise.

Heh...

BTW STARZ is showing FOTR tonight.....now when was the last time I saw it? :)
To: Overtaxed
Been awhile. When is it on? Gonna watch it?
To: HairOfTheDog
It's on at 8:00 and I don't get STARZ. It looks like it's the theatrical release.
To: Overtaxed
You know... I like the the theatrical version of the cart scene with Frodo and Gandalf better than the extended. The conversation flows better, IMHO....
I miss the "What news of the outside world? Tell me everything!" (half-expecting it to skip like the bootleg did, LOL!) and Gandalf's response "Far too eager and curious for a hobbit, most un-natural!". I loved that. and I miss it. Do you?
To: HairOfTheDog
Yes. I still miss the places that repeat in the bootleg. (in the Arwen/BR race and when Frodo needs a hug after Moria)

Those were the days!
To: HairOfTheDog
Maybe we should have a chat-view of the bootleg. :)

Our heroes have won but have also lost massive pieces of themselves and will carry those scars for the rest of their lives." Tolkein was a veteran of World War I, and lost almost all of his school friends in that war.
One theme is that we have to fight evil, but another is that those who fight it will be scarred by the fight.
. No one has the answers,
But one thing is true,
You got to turn on evil,
When it's comin' after you.
You got to face it down,
And when it tries to hide,
You got to go in after it,
And never be denied.
Time is runnin' out, let's roll.
Let's roll for freedom, Let's roll for love,
Goin' after Satan, On the wings of a dove.
Let's roll for justice, Let's roll for truth,
Let's not let our children, Grow up fearful in their youth.
Time is runnin' out, let's roll

Heh.... just for old-time's sake!
To: HairOfTheDog
I have a new tv. Mine finally gave up the ghost yesterday (probably watching FOTR over and over). The old tv had terrible color, new one is so much different. I am back to rewatching again. Especially parts like the balrog and the eagle coming in over saurumon's shoulder.... what a difference when you can actually see it, LOL.
To: ican'tbelieveit
HA! - Yeah! - It does make a big difference if you can see the eagle coming! Congratulations on the new set. May it serve you for at least two more movies!
