President Bush giving a stirring speech in Philadelphia. Senator Lott's statement was repudiated by name, and disavowed on behalf of all Republicans. It was an excellent example of political ju-jitsu; the crowd is cheering him, and it is heavily African-American.

I see the NFL agrees with me on the Edwards incident.

Officials make questionable calls all the time, and given the fast-paced nature of the game, and angles and such, this can be expected through no real fault of the officials. The incident with Edwards however, was in clear view, plain to see, with plenty of time, and a resolved issue. Anything more than a touch or incidental contact in that situation is illegal in football and has been for many years.
