Coming from AP shouldn't that be: An activist dressed like a pregnancy inhibitor/disease control device... ?

It really frosts my cookies that some fool decided that December 1st would be now and forever known as World Aids Day. You see Mr. Betty and I were married on this date eighteen years ago and WE HAD IT FIRST!! (not aids.. the date) The nerve of some people. ;-)

Grand indeed! I didn't realize it was so mucky until Registered enlarged it. The only way that shot would have been better was if his face had hit the muck.

Yet another reason to be miffed at certain Germans.

FILE ** Michael Jackson (news) looks at his Golden Bambi Award during the awards ceremony in Berlin Nov. 21, 2002, after he received the German media prize for his lifetime achievement. As a contract lawsuit against the 44-year-old entertainer is set to resume Tuesday in Santa Maria, Calif., his erratic behavior which recently involved dangling an infant from a fourth-story balcony has once again eclipsed his musical talent. I'm starting to feel sorry for Halle Berry...

Halle Berry's philandering husband cheated on her before and after their wedding - and even called his "girlfriend" hours before tying the knot, says a former model who claims she's had an ongoing sexual relationship with the man for the past seven years.

And days before Berry, 34, celebrated her greatest personal and professional triumph, model Julia Riley says she was romping with Halle's man, R&B singer Eric Benet.

"Just days before Halle stood up and collected her Oscar award in front of the world, her husband was in bed with me," said Riley, 33.

"She may be a top Hollywood star, but she doesn't know how to keep her man." [That's right, blame the wife.]

Just hours before he got married to Berry in 2000, Benet, 36, also took time to phone Riley to say he loved her and to say he had wired her some money she had asked him to send her, the model claims.

Riley said it was Benet's lust for kinky sex, and Berry's reluctance to satisfy his urges, that led him to come back to Riley time after time since they first began their affair in their hometown of Milwaukee in 1997. [snip]Page Six

More Hollyweirdness... and that's putting it mildly...

Well Good Grief! I read the first paragraph. That was enough for me.

I'm headed to the shower to detox after that one! Besides, it's time to get ready for Mass. bbl

Sorry to go on and on folks, there's just so much good stuff today....

JENNIFER Lopez should have thought twice about firing her ex-husband as manager of her Pasadena restaurant, Madre's. The bitter ex is now trashing the singer as a "cold, heartless modern-day Elizabeth Taylor" who is "in love with herself." In a first-person account in next week's Star magazine, former hubby Ojani Noa - whose marriage to J.Lo in 1997 lasted just 15 months - even has a warning for the latest future Mr. Lopez, Ben Affleck: "Wedding vows mean nothing to her . . . If she climbed into bed with you so easily, don't you think she'll do the same with someone else? She moves on when she gets tired of sleeping with the same man. She will end up in her old age all alone with seven or eight wrecked marriages in her wake." Noa describes the early days of his marriage as pure bliss and lust. "Men will die and go to heaven and never know the happiness I felt [with] Jennifer. She really knows how to please a man." But her affair with Sean "Puffy" Combs turned her from "a beautiful, adoring wife to a cold, heartless human being," he writes. "I used to believe her when she telephoned late at night with excuses about script conferences in the early hours . . . It was all a lie. . . Ben Affleck better beware - before it's too late." Page Six

Uh-oh, JLo just fired her hairdresser, can't wait for the juicy stuff he's going to let loose.

HAIRY MOMENT

Off to make some French Toast for my sweetie, see y'all later!

That was John McCain on SNL. I saw the stalker skit and the one where he played the hippy-dippy high school art teacher, and only could shake my head. Heaven forbid a U.S. Senator behave with some decorum. Speaking of which, now that JFK the Second (Kerry) says he'll probably run, it's time to revisit the WashPost interview of JFK and his wife, Mrs. Heinz.

Of course, the Toon has to weigh in on AIDS day:

In an article in the New York Times, Clinton, who heads an international anti-AIDS group along with South African statesman Nelson Mandela, said 95 percent of people with the disease were receiving no treatment. [I find this statistic hard to believe]

"Given that medicine can turn AIDS from a death sentence into a chronic illness and reduce mother-to-child transmission, our withholding of treatment will appear to future historians as medieval, like bloodletting," he wrote. [Our withholding of treatment? Let's not exaggerate too much!] story, ABC News.

Scouring the international press, I find that "Sophie's Choice" - the Styron book, later a film with Meryl Streep - is the basis of a new opera, which will premiere soon in London.

Saturday's premiere is expected to attract a slew of celebrities, including Styron, Meryl Streep (who won an Oscar for her performance in the 1982 film version of Sophie's Choice), Chelsea Clinton and Mike Wallace. source

Certainly, the author and a memorable "Sophie" should be there, and Mike Wallace is, after all, a noted journalist. But don't you love the inclusion of Chelsea Clinton as a "celebrity"? A girl who has done absolutely nothing in her life except be exceptionally visible?

..."our withholding of treatment..."

Remind me again who was president for 8 years.

As for Kerry, I think Tim tipped the pubbies' hand when he showed that, for the last several years, Kerry has voted with Ted Kennedy 100% of the time!

Clinton tries to make it sound like Pres. Bush is standing over an emaciated, suffering AIDS patient, and laughing maniacally, "No medicine for you!"

Crayon or candle wax can be removed by placing an ink blotter on the wax and applying a hot pressing iron to the top of the blotter.
