I got some pictures, mainly of Patriots Day, Battery Park and the Interpid. But I am not able to link them to the FR. If people are interested, mail me at hawkknight@home.nl and tell me which topic you want to see. I will send them over.

Welcome to our country and welcome to NYC.....there is no place on earth quite like NYC. Which, no doubt, is why the ba$tards wanted to hurt the city.

Man was that a big one! I bragged about it to my friends here who like to eat a lot. Thanks for a great time!

A Barret! .50 is banned in the Netherlands (only some people get a special licence). Man, that is a gun.

I promise to come over there one day. And even maybe settle in that neighborhood too.

Thanks for this beautifully written account, knighthawk!

I enjoyed your description of the meetings with Yehuda, Pharmboy and Harpseal. Especially the trip to the range sounds like it was a load of fun!

Perhaps I too will get to meet some Freepers in 3D, either on my next trip to the U.S. or when someone visits here in Germany.

can't wait to hear when you come back and visit TEXAS!

Thanks for remembering to ping me. Sounds like you were extremely busy! Hope you enjoyed your trip and NYC was all that you expected. It's an amazing sight, isn't it? It's wonderful your FReeper friends took the time to show you around and get to know you.

When you are ready to visit Texas let me know and I'll take you to Crawford. We'll eat lunch at The Coffee Station where W eats hamburgers, for dinner we'll do TexMex or barbecue. We like to eat in Texas, lol. We'll find some longhorn steers for you to take pictures of too. You can rent a car and drive for days and take in the sights. You could start in Dallas and take Interstate 35 to the south and pass through Austin and San Antonio on your way to the Mexican border, or head east and see Houston and the Gulf Coast. Lots to see. Texas won't be anything like NYC, but it will be an amazing experience for you.

Excellent report, thanks for the ping! I'll have to email you later for the photos. I didn't know it was such a short flight but I'm on the left coast, about as far away from NY as you are to Moscow right about now, if not further. Sounds like you had a good time.

I'll get my chance hopefully to go to the Netherlands next year, time & money permitting.

And even maybe settle in that neighborhood too.

Two Dutch companies with a strong presence here in Atlanta are Philips and Noro. FWIW.

Again, dinner offer still stands, and range time as well, if you want some more. Sounds like you and Harpseal did the indoor pistol range trip. We'll have to do the outdoor range with numerous evil black sport utility rifles.

It was great, NYC is a nice place to start off wih. The next time I will come down South. And you Americans certainly know what eating is. NYC was almost one big restaurant!

Texas sounds really appealing, I will let you know when I am in in the 'neigborhood'. Maybe even next summer (my brother and friends want to drive through the States, they wanted me to join them. So maybe next year. It depends on some other things).

A short flight? I never flown before, so6 hours and 0 minutes was long enough for me. You only see clouds, and sometimes the ocean. When we approached the US/Canada I saw some beautiful terrain, mountains with rivers flowing through.

When you visit the Netherlands some time, let me know!
