I heard the relief in his voice when I thanked him for taking care of the problem swiftly.

I heard that same tone of voice from the Basketball Coach who called to discuss with me suspending my son from his team.

I said, "Hey Look, this is your team, I'm not gonna tell you how to run it. If you think he deserves a suspension, suspend the kid. He's gonna learn more from that than he is from me taking the Nintendo controler away from him."

He thanked me profusely. Unfortunately the other players who were involved in the same misdeeds were not suspended because their folks raised Holy Hell. It was Grossly Unfair,,,, but so is LIFE.

Has anybody ever seen Nathan and Rosie together?

From Page Six:

O'Donnell's attorney, Mary Jo White, the former U.S. attorney in Manhattan, said O'Donnell is "attempting to take the high road" but is "fully prepared to fight for her principles in court."

I missed this, Mary Jo is the former US attorney? Did Rosie convince her to quit for this case?

were not suspended because their folks raised Holy Hell.

I imagine it's only gotten worse over the years. Many parents these days are either clueless or feeling guilty that they can't control their children.

On a field trip once a young man wasn't doing what he was supposed to. I asked him what he was waiting for. He said, "I'm waiting for you to get out of my face!" OY VEY!

I took him by the arm and escorted him to an area to sit out the choral concert the kids were giving to an elementary school.

At the meeting with the parent and teachers the mom said, "What gives that woman the right to put her hands on my son?!" The teacher simply replied, "Me. "And your son is now out of chorus."

She changed her tune pretty quickly and I got a note of apology from the student.

The attitude of these parents never ceases to amaze me.

ANOTHER BLOW TO DEMOCRATS: MCAULIFFE LOSING HIS GRIP ON PARTY
The Washington Times ^ | 9/19/02 | John McCaslin

Spontaneous pledge

In order to register and activate student voters for the fall election, the Democratic National Committee hosted 200 rallies across the country on Tuesday featuring top Democratic leaders. Apparently, things didn't go as planned.

Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe was the star attraction at one such rally at the University of Maryland. There he discovered College Democrats outflanked by youthful College Republicans 67-21.

To make matters worse for the Clinton-picked DNC honcho, he entered the rally's outdoor amphitheater to chants of "Come clean, Terry."

Mr. McAuliffe began his remarks by thanking the College Republicans for coming. Then the assembled students broke into the Pledge of Allegiance, and the DNC had no choice but to stop his remarks and join them.

At the end of the event, the College Republicans boasted 23 newly registered voters and 71 new College Republicans. No word from College Democrats on their success.

Wouldn't you know he was perfect?

Last week he had issues with cutting out paper shapes as instructed, and had an outburst. When his teacher tried to speak to him, he turned his face away from her and refused to work. His fit carried over into his kindergarten classroom. If he were at home and pulled that, my little red spatula would come out and convince him to cooperate.

Rosie killed Rosie yesterday.

So it took her less than a year to trash the old McCalls that had been around forever. Nice work, Rosie.

I'm sure the principal was relieved, any time they get help rather than a hard time from a parent they're relieved. I have seen some real nutty parents go off on the administrator unfairly when their little darling has done something wrong. I've even heard them threaten to sue.

I take it DS will not be in for a pleasant afternoon when he arrives home.
We tough moms have to stick together.

Is this a government school?

It sounds very controlled to me - I thought art was in the mind of the artist and whatever they dreamed it to be.

It's been a half a century ago, but I do not recall doing cutout thingies in class - ours was drawing and coloring, which I loved to do. Didn't the girls do the dollie cutouts?

I'm with the kid on this one - he doesn't want to be sissified as instructed. Give the guy some crayons and lotsa paper. mytwocents. ;-)

How did you know my yard needs a good raking? And the deck needs to be swept, think I'll make a list. ;-)

Yes, it's a government school, but a very good one. (I know it's hard to believe) Since the children have been discussing shapes and colors in kindergarten, they integrated that into their project.

Coloring with crayons is what he wanted to do. He loves to draw pictures of himself sporting a big smile.

My idea of art class is putting on a raincoat and allowing the fingerpaint to fly.

That is just bad design.

I would like to know how you would prevent those from falling down any further, they look like they'll roll.

What design is next? Taping a toilet seat to some model's behind? Would that pass for fashion?
