Mink still 'very sick' but few details given
By Mike Gordon Advertiser Staff Writer
The family of U.S. Rep. Patsy Mink, who has been hospitalized in the Straub Hospital & Clinic intensive care unit since Sept. 1, yesterday said Mink has "a hard-hitting pneumonia that takes time to overcome and heal from."
"The family has been advised to be patient while Mrs. Mink fights the pneumonia," according to the statement. "The family asks the public to be patient, as well."
Send her to Cuba where her vision of health care rules...

She's 74 yrs old and up for re-election. If the prognosis was good, the family would want it known.

FBI takes notice of wedding - Palestinian accused of tricking disabled/retarded woman into marriage
Agents of the Dallas FBI's Counter-Terrorism Task Force filed a rare federal marriage fraud complaint against Ibrahim Mustafa Abu Baker, and a grand jury this week indicted him on an immigration charge of fraudulently applying for permanent residency. The Palestinian man is accused of tricking a retarded woman he had just met into marrying him so he could gain U.S. residency.
The 37-year-old woman, who is both mentally and physically impaired, told investigators that she could not read or write and had progressed to the 11th grade in special education classes. She worked in a restaurant for Mr. Abu Baker's uncle, Husam Ibrahim Alahmad, to whom she confided that she was looking for a roommate.
Mr. Alahmad arranged for her to meet Mr. Abu Baker, convincing her that the pair would need a judge's seal of approval for the roommate arrangement, the indictment said. Six days before Mr. Abu Baker's visitor visa was to expire, the couple were married in a brief courtroom ceremony. Afterward, with marriage certificate in hand, Mr. Abu Baker dropped his bride off at the restaurant, applied for residency and never sought out his "wife" again.
Shortly after performing the ceremony on Aug. 5, Dallas County Justice of the Peace Jim Terry in Farmers Branch called the office of Rep. Pete Sessions to report that "there was something not right" about the nuptials he had just performed, according to the complaint.
Judge Terry said he was immediately suspicious because Mr. Abu Baker could speak no English and his bride did not seem to understand what was happening. There were no rings or signs of affection, and Mr. Abu Baker listed his hometown on the marriage license as the war-torn Palestinian town of Jenin.
"That's really what made me suspicious about what was going on," he said.
The next day, the congressman reported the marriage to the terrorism task force, which since the terrorist attacks a year ago has intensified efforts to check out all reports of suspicious activities by Middle Easterners.

Do you have lots of built-in bookshelves at the new house? No, no built-in bookshelves. We'll have to build some. We have lots of books.

NAPLES, Florida (CNN) --The Georgia woman who prompted Friday's terror scare was "flat-out lying" when she told authorities she overheard three Muslim men at a restaurant laughing about September 11 and making suspicious comments, one of the men said late Friday.
"How many other people witnessed this event that supposedly took place, first of all? Did they ask the server who served us? Did they ask anybody else that was in the restaurant? How is it that one person can pick up a phone and make any statement that they will and we end up [in custody]?" said Ayman Gheith at a rest area shortly after they were released.
"What she has said is obviously a lie."
So she predicted these jokers would run a toll booth? These guys are looking for litigation lottery.

Any carpentry books? Or is it time to call the handsome handyman?

Sure it was a lie.... She said they said they were going to Florida - and they were caught running a toll booth in Vermont, right?

I they have "freedom of speech" to laugh and joke about 9-11, then she has the freedom to call anyone she wants to and talk about them.

No carpentry books, and I don't think my hubby would be very happy if I called a handsome handyman!
