tom's alibi supposedly included being at a local sporting event, taking photos. if you notice, the article in the shooters publication seems to be an attempt at establishing tom's alibi the evening of june 4th, 2002.

You could be right.

From the Sports Shooter article posted above:
"After putting in a couple decades as the News' chief photographer, Tom recently stepped away from his management role and was back to shooting for the paper full-time. Once he made the switch you'd see him show up to an assignment floating on air, so happy to be 'just a photographer.'"
Earth to Palladin: the above does not describe a demotion, it describes a voluntary job change. Tom is, as we know, heavily involved in some land development. Perhaps he lessened the responsibilities at his "day job" so he could devote time to his land development/investment.

"They're repeoducing like...like...MORMONS!!!"--Palladin
Folks, Palladin said s/he has a Catholic background. I would like the world to know that at this moment, I feel ashamed to be a Catholic. I must also point out that we Catholics have always been known for large families.
What's the matter with you, Palladin? One evening you sound like a sanctimonious bleeding heart lib, then the next night you sound like a 1930's-era eugenicist. (Do you admire Margaret Sanger?)
This "newbie" is just one person.

HEY ARE WE ON THIS BOARD OR THE OTHER ONE---IM SO CONFUSED???!!!????
I thought Catholics had bigger families too. Palladin must be talking about those polygamy poeple.
We dont do that, yes, its true they did in 1840's+ but not now and if research history way back what do they think they did everywhere. (that was mainly for palladin)

Varina, those of you who pointed out the strong resemblance between Dixon and Edmonds have a valid and interesting point. However, if I remember correctly, when Edmonds was spotted at the vigil, I think they also got a good look at the car--and it was the well-known Saturn.
So unless Dixon and Edmonds both had Saturns, I think it probably really was Edmonds at the vigil.

What Bo Derek hairstyle pic? Is there one? Where can I go to see it?

Give him time. This is a big place. It's all a new person can do just to read the thread(s) that interest him the most.

Scaredkat, to some confused parties, the 1840's are like yesterday.
What? Do you mean other groups practiced polygamy in the way-back-when? My word, who'd have thought it? Next thing you know, they'll accuse the LDS of the Inquisition, too.

I think you've got the gist of it.
Hey, you know, without absolutes, that concentric circle thing doesn't work!
To: Palladin
I have to tell you photographs are not unusual. I keep my camara loaded and take pictures all the time. You never know when your kids are going to do something, cute, funny ya know what I mean. Yes Im a scrapbook person.
To: home educate
Home Educate, if she made a statment that you post only to this thread, that sounds like an absolute to me. (But I thought there were no absolutes? :) )
Please stick around.

You're right, I did not mention you by name, was speaking generally.

What Bo Derek hairstyle pic?The one with the cornrows from "10." You must really be young.
To: varina davis
You can change a story but you cant erase it. Thats what is happening with home land security, only hits the news and bamm its gone. (your gone! jazz saying)
"The 9-year-old sister waited in fear for about two hours before telling her parents about what happened because the man had threatened to harm Elizabeth if she said a word."
Sounds like she did get threatened. "to harm elizabeth" tell you allot right there. 1- harm eliz he is talking to someone else other than elizabeth, 2-harm that word sounds very odd to me. Ill harm you? Ill harm Elizabeth? no most would say Ill hurt you or Ill hurt Elizabeth. Educated person maybe? Of course this is utahn words. harm is very formal.

"seems to be an attempt at establishing Tom's alibi the evening of June 4th, 2002." This was a very interesting suggestion. I had read that article a while back, but missed that. Thank you for pointing it out. But the article only explains where Tom was up to a point. It goes on: "Later that night, hours after we had packed up our laptops and Salt Lake City fell asleep, a 9-year-old girl opened her eyes to find a stranger in her bedroom speaking quietly to her sister." So the article really doesn't say where Tom was during the time of the abduction, and hence would be of limited usefulness as an alibi. One other thing in the article might be of use in answering some of people's questions about when the kidnapping really hit the news. (Because Richard and Angela Ricci claimed to have first heard of the event while drinking coffee by the TV at 6-6:30 the morning of June 5.) "As the sun rose over the mountains that morning, the kidnapping was already a huge story." So what time did the sun rise on June 5?

Varina, I've seen the picture of Bo Derek with the cornrows in "10." To me, the post implied that there was a picture of Elizabeth with her hair in cornrows like Bo Derek.

"Harm is very formal."
You're right. The use of the word "harm" in news reports tells us that we're probably not getting anything close to what was really said in the room that night.
