Ricci was stricken Tuesday, calling out to guards from his cell. He said he was having trouble breathing, state Corrections spokesman Jack Ford said this week. He then passed out.

The guards began resuscitation, and he was flown to University Hospital.

Ed Smart told reporters this week that his first thought was that Ricci had been poisoned, even though he was being held in a maximum-security cell.

Why would Ed Smart make this statement upon hearing of Ricci's death?

The family, as well as some of us here believes that this was a conspiracy. Richard presented a danger to anybody else who was involved in the crime . Therein lies the motive for a homicide. Not saying there was but it is a legitimate question.

Thanks for the link Neenah, I checked it out and there are some really interesting posts aren't there. What amazes me is that no matter what other threads you look at they all seem to have a lot of people like us who think there is something really odd about the whole deal. We certainly are not in the minority on that one.

Can you name a high profile case where there wasn't "something really odd"? OJ, Ramsey, Van Damm, etc., etc.

Ya, the best part was when she and Larry talked about the petty things that Ricci had done in his life of crime - totally ignoring a few minor details like shooting a cop, threatening to kill the customers and employees at the banks he robbed, and stealing from a food bank - you know, real petty stuff.

It's hard to imagine how such a prince can be so maligned.
