Smart Family Says Report of Man Digging in Canyon “Highly Suspicious”

David Smart spoke of this on Greta's show tonight. He said that the local sheriffs stated that there was no way that the hole could have been for roasting a pig but looked like it was meant to be a grave. This occurred on June 9th and it took the SLPD about 10 days to respond to it. Seems like a long time to me.

I taped the interview and have watched it again. There is quite a bit to it but what is clear is that the Elizabeth Smart Search Center is getting a lot of tips. The family passes those onto LE. David did state that LE is also getting tips but that the family is not given any of that information. So in effect we have two investigations going. One by LE and one by the Smarts. If there is any further coordination beyond the Smarts passing along their tips was unclear. It could explain why there have been these disjointed statements lately.

That's the $60,000,000 question in this case right now.

A good question might also be what ex-convicted sexual predators living in the SLC area are listed as having a blue van/SUV. And of those how many are about 5'8", athletic, short dark hair, hair on the back of their hands, and wear a WHITE BASEBALL HAT!!

David also mentioned the importance of getting the sketch out. Somebody needs to point out to the search center the resemblance of the person in the sketch to Angela. It is a real possibility that the mystery man may be her brother.

The man who took Elizabeth was described by the sister as white, with dark hair, wearing a tan, denim jacket and a WHITE BASEBALL HAT. She said he was possibly in his 30s, about 5 foot 8 inches tall and soft-spoken.

Mitchell, owner of Mitchell's Nursery, 2184 E. 3300 South, told The Salt Lake Tribune last month that Ricci worked until 7 p.m. on June 6, and would have had only one day off over the next five days. That makes it unlikely Ricci was setting fence posts June 7 in Cheyenne, about 450 miles from Salt Lake City.

Wonder what kind of vehicle this guy with this convoluted explanation covering for Ricci drives and what color and kind of hat he wears?

2.) The man in the sketch has the same basic facial fetures as Angela.

3.) The man in the sketch dug what appeared to be a grave.

4.) The man in the sketch left the area in a blue SUV.

5.) The man who picked up Ricci was in a blue van.
