My prayers go out to the Ricci family during this time. RR was sent up the river and used as a scape-goat. No evidence, whatsoever, linking him to the disappearance of Elizabeth.

I don't remember him making that stand in the Banfield interview. I do remember him saying that the woman called to see if the Jeep could be picked up early. I don't think he ever claimed that he actually saw Rick pick it up. He did however strongly claim in that interview and subsequent others that he was sure it was Richard who brought it back on the 8th. If someone has that transcript it would be helpful. He may have been clearer in his Grand Jury testimony. That is indirectly where the article is sourced. The detectives that talked with the reporter would certainly be aware of what Moul said there. Ricci's involvement may hinge on Moul's testimony and so it is important to make sure it is correct and I really don't have a problem with looking into it. I'm sure that LE has though and they have called it credible. Even the dissenting detectives didn't doubt that Moul was being truthful. They felt that Ricci wasn't smart enough to not leave any forensic evidence behind. There is a little clue in that statement as well. There is an implication in it that a smart criminal could enter a house and leave no trace behind. Perhaps Richards accomplice showed him how to enter a house without leaving a trace. Or maybe the accomplice was the one who went in. That doesn't seem likely though because of Richards previous record of entering an occupied home and the fact the Mary Katherine recognized the perpetrators voice. Fred Trujillo also has told us that Richard was indeed a smart cookie. His previous criminal activity sure doesn't fit in with Einstein though does it? So many questions.
Remember that Angela (yes, angie baby) said a set of keys were taken/stolen in April. If this was a plan in the works for some time, it could be the key-napper actually picked up the Jeep.
Angela's statements have got to be considered suspect in this case. I think more so now because of what I laid out in my previous post. There is a chance that she is involved in this crime. One other thing to consider is this. Why would any key napper grab the Jeep from Mouls and return it a week later? No logic in that. It just sounds like Angela trying to take the heat off of her man and perhaps herself.
Not realizing the implications of the larger picture, he may have only been thinking about what impact there would be on his business if it was discovered a vehicle was taken from his shop by persons unknown.
I think that Moul is an intelligent fellow. He came to this country from a foreign land and is running a successful business. I do think that he realized the implications and knew that if he lied to the police that he could destroy his livelihood. He stated that he liked Richard and he obviously valued him as a customer. I also believe that Moul was not alone on the 8th of June and that employees and customers may have witnessed the same thing. Perhaps this is why the police feel that Neth's testimony is credible. Nothing in the press has come along to impeach what he has said.

It would seem in a house the size of the Smart's home, MK would have had to follow her sister and the alleged kidnapper down the stairs, etc. to have "heard" a "yelp." It also seems as though that much surveillance by MK would have given her a pretty clear impression of what the man looked like.
And yes, it also seems as though all this "new" info is carefully engineered leaks to the media. I still think the LE is patiently waiting for someone to trip up.
Actually, jen, your posts this evening have a lot of merit. I agree about your impressions of MK and her sister's exit from the home.
