Hmmm It wouldn't be the first time someone paid too much for something...

Isn't it funny how when corporations make cutbacks they never cut the people (especially managers) who make too much for what they're actually doing, but they cut the people who actually do the day to day work? Then they wonder why they can't make a profit?

Just thinking out loud...

I learned the hard way one day by sending him a note with a smiley winky at the end. " ;) " He published it on the forum without the smiley face, which fraudulently altered its intent. After that I heartily recommend no one send him any emails.

Oh, and people who publicly declare their comings and goings have an astoundingly high opinion of their own significance

You couldn't afford me.

Hmmm....people who publicly declare how good they are at something...

Nah, too easy.

"Benjaminite signed up 2002-08-27."

Um, the owner of the site you are squatting on does not want these sorts of leftist tinfoil hat posts polluting his property.

Once again you fail to clarify to me where it should have been obvious that you weren't calling yourself humble. *sigh* I guess I shall have to go on wondering if you're really humble or not... woe is me...

,,, the repeating mistake that corporations seem to make is that they have a never ending line of "managers" with no regard to the value of human capital or how to assess it. People are disposable. Anyone with the slightest idea of this realises that your staff are an asset, along with the debtors ledger etc. Dumping good workers with a knowledge base is really shooting yourself in the foot. Telling the bad ones not to bother hanging up their coats is a mistake being made more often in mahogany row. Look at Enron et al. Just my opinion.

Many patriotic folks...... real Americans, love their country far more than the coveted gameplan of our little ally in the Middle East

An anti-semitic disrupter. Yawn.

Bingo!

My hubby's corporation actually came up with the *game plan* to have NON-IT managers for the IT department. Apparently it would promote "creativity" or some such rot. Of course it just makes it impossible to get anything done, because the managers haven't the slightest understanding of what is actually *needed.*

Boy, he didn't last long.

You gotta wonder at the lunacy of someone who spends an hour of their time to sign up and post some leftist drivel which will be removed and get them banned 5 minutes later.

I am a professional writer. I support myself and my family writing. People pay me to write.

For the record, I believe your posts this thread have been, for the most part, easy to follow. Arrogant and too brusque by half, but comprehensible.

What I don't understand is why your claim (which I'll accept) to be a "professional" should mean anything. It doesn't (as you seem to be implying) suddenly give your words greater clarity. And it certainly doesn't give you any greater credibility or claim to quality. Terriergal et al are supposed to be intimidated because they've been addressed by a Real Author...? Please.

Frankly, I'd expect a writer who wants to be paid would tend to give his or her audience more benefit of the doubt, seeing any gaps in comprehension as things to be addressed in the writing, not the reading.
