Both papers I worked for had strict policies about not printing photos of people who had died in fires or accidents or crimes... nor were we to show injuries. It's just inhumane - disrespectful of victims and families and a violation of personal privacy.

But then my first front page photo was of a big salmon being sliced open by high school students on a field trip to a fish hatchery, and the eggs were spilling out into a basin. When I turned in the roll of film for the biology project story, I did not expect it to be front page news. I was surprised to see it there the next day, and the paper got some complaints about it. It was a really cool shot, though.

Hi all,,,

First time today I got on the puter...we had 7 for dinner tonite...prime rib, baked potatoes, peas, carrots, dinner rolls, wine and for dessert..chocolate pie..never made one before and it came out really good...dishes are done and now I have to medicate Missie and then to bed.

Little Missie is deaf and at 0230 she discovered she was alone in the living room so she began to meow loudly,,,then she threw up a fur ball..took til 0430 to get her settled down...then I had to be up for the gym and then get the tableand all ready for dinner at 1730...finally all is done and put away...what a day,,,,,I am pooped. Looks like everyone here is too cus no one seems to be around. And now that the lads are off on a hootin and hollerin mission it is gonna be too quiet and tame...

Got a note from Ringy today...she is fine. Said she saw a pod of Orcas and they were "singing". She said it was haunting.She plans to be home in mid Sept for a bit and then is not quite sure what she will do next...but she is ok. I told her we all miss her a lot and look forward to her safe return.

Well think I'll head on out...make up for the sleep I did not get last night... Talk to you later.
