Why is a vicious murderer released so soon after his arrest?
These idiots at this church definitely need a new pastor who won't be afraid of adding some common sense to his preaching:

Minister's arrest in wife's death mystifies, horrifies small town

Friends in disbelief; sheriff calls killing 'hate-filled crime'

By Lisa Falkenberg ASSOCIATED PRESS Monday, August 19, 2002

TROUP -- Despite her jitters, Marla Tabb prepared herself for the avalanche of responsibilities that awaited her as the new pastor's wife in a small East Texas town.

But the 35-year-old wife of a former Navy chaplain would not live to fulfill those duties. Two months after Marla, her husband and their 2-year-old son left the military and moved to Texas, she was beaten to death in the parsonage bedroom.

Last week, the Rev. Mike Tabb, 41, was charged with murder in his wife's death. Smith County Sheriff J.B. Smith called Marla Tabb's slaying "an emotional, hate-filled crime."

...On the evening Marla Tabb was killed, just six weeks after she gave birth to a second son, authorities received a frantic 911 call from her husband. He said he had just come home and found the front door open and his wife dead.

Authorities are still searching for the weapon used to beat her to death. They said the attacker went to great lengths to clean up the scene but left behind a large wooden table with two legs broken off. One leg remains missing.

...Wednesday, authorities arranged for the minister to turn himself in, saying they found blood on his shoes and in his truck bed. He was released the same day from the Smith County Jail after posting a $50,000 bond.

Troup Mayor John Whitsell, a spokesman for the First United Methodist Church, where Tabb had just become pastor, said members are wrestling with anger and disappointment but trying not to judge the minister.

"The person we trusted to guide our spiritual beliefs at least allegedly turned against everything we stand for," Whitsell said. "I think we all have to realize the fact that he's human just like the rest of us."

The justice system will "judge" the minister, the rest of us are free to draw our own conclusions.

I think he polled 70% just after he gave his now famous line about not having sexual relations with "that" woman.....

The fun part is the new poll that shows 66% of the American public doesn't believe a word he says....

Gotta love it.

Science proves it: Alcohol makes 'em better-looking

Reuters News Service
LONDON - Want to be more attractive? Then make sure those around you are having a drink.

British scientists have found even modest amounts of alcohol will make the opposite sex appear better-looking.

"We have carried out experiments which show that what is known in the trade as the 'beer-goggle effect' does actually exist," said Barry Jones, professor of psychology at Glasgow University.

The study of 120 male and female students found drinking up to four units of alcohol -- about two pints of beer or four glasses of wine -- increased the perceived attractiveness of members of the opposite sex by about 25 percent.

Jones said alcohol apparently stimulates a part of the brain called the nucleus accumbens, which judges facial attractiveness.

"There is a strong link between facial attractiveness and signals about the quality of a potential mate," Jones said.

The professor said the study had been prompted by the causal link between risky sex and alcohol consumption.
