Sorry, forgot to put in my comment EXCEPT red blood cells and platelets as they expel their nucleus's at formation and contain no nuclear DNA.

And since testing done was on mitochondrial DNA, that will only place the DNA into a family, linking the passage on the maternal side of the family.

Your reply is above. I am talking about the MH sink drain trap hair with root (nuclear DNA, right?) matching 12 of 13 loci to the DNA extracted from Danielle's rib. Holland (?) the DNA guy said so.

Why doesn't it match exactly?

Furthermore -- the only way a non-match might be acceptable is if the markers were chosen from the control and compared against a degraded sample. Why would anyone do this? If you select the markers from the sample in the first place, you know that they will all be there in the control group if it is the same DNA.

It also seems to me that 12 out of 13 nDNA markers would be reasonable to find in a mother-child comparison. The 13th would be found in the biological father's nDNA.

I know I am posting from way back in the thread, so if this is already resolved maybe could let me know.
