For a short while that stuff certainly did take over the Latest Posts page and it was being carried on by BobJ, A Navy Vet and the usual crew of AFers who mysteriously showed up at exactly the same time the FReepers came to play.

That it is off the screen and into its own folder is due to the efforts of the site manager, not to any restraint on the part of the wankathon participants. Bob posted another troll vanity to breaking news this past week, so it isn't for lack of trying that the wankathon doesn't dominate the view there.

In my opinion, an uneducated electorate means it doesn't matter who gets elected - garbage in = garbage out. Given the public skool system's record on teaching civics, there's a lot of catch-up work to do. That means, again in my opinion, that the job of the conservative who has taken the time to make up for the failure of public education system in that area, is to endeavor to educate the public by whatever means available as to the nature of our government and law as the founders envisioned it. There are a number of different approaches to that goal but the bottom line is that I believe education is the ball to keep your eye on. Conservatives can point to the Founding Fathers for support, socialists can't.

What I see happening all too often in whatever discussion forum is the same thing that happens on CB radios. Everybody behind a microphone (or keyboard) becomes The Great And Powerful Oz (...Pay no attention to that man behind the curtain!) which is a function of people who are too impressed with their own personalities. They invest way too much energy in personality-driven, internecine political intrigue that, in relation to the big picture, is completely pointless - and in the process take their eyes off the ball. Some people are so good at this that it makes me wonder if they aren't being paid to do it. It's a puerile waste of time and energy that this country doesn't need. That statement is not meant as a "why can't we all just get along..." It's my opinion that for me as a "conservative" or more accurately, a "Constitutionalist," my job is to pass along that information that I consider useful to those that are receptive to it, and where they are receptive to it, then move along - not waste a lot of time spinning my wheels with those people who would rather engage in name calling and the usual load of personality-driven crap. I'm not accusing anybody in particular of this, I'm saying I'm too busy for it.

The time I spent over at LP reviewing the latest posts relative to FR is a classic example of what I don't have time for. Certain people over there spend their time whining about FR while casting personal aspersions against FR members instead of posting information they consider to be of use obviously have too much time on their hands. I don't have time for them or that variety of discussion.

what's an AFer? Anti-freeper. A motley crew of former FR posters who, since JimRob will not listen to their demands about how FR should be run (or, in some cases, liberal idiots who keep coming here so they can be drop-kicked out after fifteen minutes), now roam from site to site, demonstrating to no one but themselves how JimRob is getting rich off of FR donations. Basically, they're a bunch of twits with the emotional development of junior high students.

I looked at that place twice. The first time when out of curiosity when I first heard about it. The second time was to see if "they really said that" (after reading something here referencing something there that was mind-bogglingly off the wall).

Each time I felt dirty after just looking at the place. I've never seen so much hatred under one roof.

It's not just that it's "there", or even that it seems to be tolerated, but more like (or so it seems to me) it's encouraged.

I do think people should take at least one look there, just so that they can see what a "lunatics running the asylum" scenario really looks like. But then again I also think people should see the video of the chechnian terrorist ripping out the throat of the Russian soldier, because people need to see just how evil pure unmitigated evil can be.

Liberty Forum is a new one on me I honestly don't know a thing about it. I've never heard of it. Liberty Post did get a little hot for while and Neil did get it under control. There does have to be some reasonable discipline in any serious forum. Just curious Liberty Forum sounds like a former Freeper whom I won't mentions forum. Just a wild guess though. One that was around under another name or several since?

Is there any way to get the anti-libertarians to stop posting nasty (and illogical) crap to threads needlessly? It's usually on a negative thread on which no one has made a libertarian point, and is typically very insulting to libertarian posters. And yet, they appear never to be told to stop. Ruins many a decent thread, if you ask me.

This bothers me greatly, too. The problem could be that since libertarians are not the type to go whining, "Mommy, he's bothering me," the mods' never know what these "seminar" posters are doing.
