A lot of people walk these runs (huh?). The Bay to Breakers is famous for costumed runners and walkers. Every year there is a group dressed like salmon that go the opposite direction through the crowd. Last year were several people dressed in pink - pink slips, dot com layoffs. Pretty clever. Some mad cows, too. I didn't see much this past year. I was huddled under my poncho trying to stay semi-dry. I was coming down with a sinus infection and just wanted to be home! dry and warm.

I'm off to bed. It's cold and foggy tonight, I actualy had to start the heater. The fog rolled in over the Berkley hills in the late afternoon. Brrrrrrrrrr.

I heard today that most of the major retail outlets are beginning to cut back on their stock of VHS. Starting to phase out for the shift to DVD. So, if there ia a tape that you would like to own best see about getting it before too much longer. Later on I heard an "industry spokesman" quoted as saying it was pre-mature for stores to start reducing the onhand stock. LOL

It is no secret about all the undergrowth and fuels. I knew it back in at least 1987 or 1988 and I've never had a days' training in forestry management! I just happened to listen to folks who made a living out of the forest either thru logging or grazing.

But, anyone that knows anything is NOT to be listened to.

Didya notice the article also mentioned all the insect and diseased acreage.......and they call themselves stewards of the forest? Don't make me laugh.

Another mother has tried to kill her 4 children. Unbelievably, it is her second attempt. She pleaded guilty to simple arson in 1995 after she torched a van which set her house on fire. The two children she had at the time escaped that blaze. She told authorities she set that one because she always had to watch the children and never had fun. She was placed on three years probation.
