The Wall Street Journal Editorial Board is on CNBC right now. I've never watched it before, and am rather interested in what they have to say. I actually used to read the WSJ, but haven't subscribed for a couple of years now. They are talking about forest management, forest fires and environmentalists.

Did you see Loddy's post #604?
To: .38sw
I like it, too. I used to read the front page of the Journal every day when I was trying to figure out Wall Street. FOFLOL I gave that up and started reading the editorial pages. That has been a more gratifying experience.

..."Rowdee, Please don't presume to speak for me. I said exactly what I meant to say. I always do. I am taken with the clarity, composition and artistic eye that both Valerie and Mo have. "...
Darlin', Please don't attempt to flatter yourself at my expense. I said exactly what I meant to say. I always do. Please note I said nothing to indicate I was attempting to speak for you.....I couldn't possibly be that catty or bitchy.
Rather, I indicated that sweetliberty was left out of the mix....undoubtedly on purpose....that must be because your computer only slows down and takes forever to load when pictures are from her collection...but, that's JMO.
Regardless, I am quite pleased with the pictures sweetliberty shows on the thread; and while I think Val and Mo are excellent photogs and have told them they have great pics, I wanted to make sure Scotslass was made aware that there are more than one or two good photogs on the FReeople threads....not that I have to explain anything to you, of course.
If you have a problem with that, you need to learn to deal with it.
Regards.....

That would have looked so scrumptuous a couple of hours ago.....LOL....too full now. I even had to save a sliver of the icecream/cake to eat tomorrow.
I was really surprised my brother didn't have a steak....they have a good Porterhouse and I can't think of the other cut that he likes.....oh well....he was stuffed, too.

I had seen the thread. Right now, the Forest Service realizes that it needs to remove a lot of trees, but the environmentalists have made "logging" a bad word. They are insisting that the FS "thin" the forests, but don't want commercial logging companies to do it. Can't trust that profit motive, you know. The FS is considering ways to have their own crews "thin" the forests, but then it would cost the taxpayers money, and nobody would be able to make any money on those forest products that have been removed. I don't know what the proposal is for getting rid of the wood fiber, possibly "chipping" for biomass, which is burned in some power generaion plants.

You're not gonna believe what I've been watching. Disney did a one hour promo about a new animated feature. Old Elvis classics made up most or all of the soundtrack. So, they have lots of contemporay artist performing them on the show. Wynonna is singing A Hunk, A Hunk of Burning Love and there is a whole lot more of Wynonna on stage now there used to be. LOL

These leftist environmental whackos need to go down right along with the ACLU and other organizations who have long outlived their usefulness and way overstepped their bounds. I love virgin forest and pristine wilderness as much as anyone, but I also realize that there are more practical ways of dealing with protecting and preserving the environment than what these morons would have us believe.

I haven't seen Wynonna for a long time, but if I recall, she's wasn't exactly rail thin to begin with (not that I am in any position to say anything about chubbies).
Speaking of chubbies, I am walking every day, not missing a day, and eating a lot of salad. There's too much of me these days.

"There's too much of me these days" I can relate. I really need to get more active again. Starving myself for months has yielded limited results.

Cheri....the FS has gotten away from its roots--which was the protection of the forest.....now they don't care....they've wimped out and cater to every whim the environuts can come up with.
Senator Larry Craig a few years ago was chastising the head of the Forest Service, can't remember the chief's name at the moment, because they had 'lost' or couldn't account for hundreds of thousands of acres!!!
They are just like all the other government bureaucracies--they've gotten too big, too soft, too lazy, and too stupid to do the right thing.
The forests going from here to Missoula are pathetic....they are bug infested and the trees are dying....and of course, the concern about the fuel loads dating from '95's report only increased until we had the raging inferno a couple of years back.....fire so hot in many places that the soil is sterilized....they are saying some areas may take 5 years before anything will grow!

I've made it a priority to walk - and walk briskly. Tomorrow, I'm adding wrist weights. I'm getting up early to walk around the local reservoir. It's just under 3 miles, and has hills, so it makes me work harder.

California is bad, too. I drove down the Feather River Canyon last month, which had burned a couple of years ago. The FS was prevented from salvaging the burned trees, and the canyon is a mess. Just a mess. I'd seen it before it burned, and it was gorgeous. Those trees are just rotting away. Besides the employees who don't want trees cut, there are the groups that appeal all of the projects, then take the FS to court if they don't get their way. It's just outrageous.

FOFLOL. When it comes to insincerty and flattery I'm afraid you have an advantage over me. I could never hope to match your level of ingratiating unctuousness.
Again, you are being presumptous. You can not possibly know what I deliberately did not or did say in a post that was not addressed to you but one that nonetheless you imposed yourself on.
You went out of your way to be rude to me and you used a new poster in the process. It was an awkward, conspicious and ill mannered stretch even for someone who was obviously raised in a barn.
As for dealing with it ? Don't let your mouth overload your ability. You don't have the right ammunition. I doubt you ever did.

I have such a problem with my feet right now that extra walking, at least as part of a routine, is just not a viable option. It is bad enough having to be on them all the time at work.
To: .38sw
Wynonna is bigger than I've ever seen her. The wonam can sing a song though. LOL.
Great news on the walking and thinning down front. :) Dontcha love the way it feels ?
