Fourth Of July in the United States of America should be a flag-waving time. That's what it's all about. It's not about 'everything's fine, I'm fine, you're fine' touchy-feely 'I'm okay, you're okay, we have nothing to worry about'-type situation. We're involved in a very, very dangerous war and we gotta start realizing it or we're gonna be in big trouble." Charlie "gets it", to bad PBS does not.

WASHINGTON, Jun 20, 2002 (AP Online via COMTEX) -- Just weeks before Timothy McVeigh bombed the Oklahoma City federal building in 1995, U.S. intelligence and law enforcement received several warnings that Islamic terrorists were seeking to strike on American soil and that a likely target was government buildings, documents show. Hmmmm... it took 7 years for this story to come out, but only 7 months for the 9/11 warnings story to come out.

PBS is in its last opera act, where it dies an agonizingly noisy death several times over before the curtain finally falls.

Last night the President reminded Pubbies how critical it is to retain conrol of the House and to reclaim the Senate. We raised $30M last night. After an unpcoming fundraiser with Jeb in Florida this Friday, Pubbies will have raised $100M this year. Having the money to fund conservative campaigns is great but we have to actively support our local candidates. If not we'll see more of this kind of deceptive, back stabbing obstructionism. Democrats call terror bill 'ruse' to fire civil workers

I wonder what entertainer at PBS's A Capitol Fourth in Washington, D.C. will represent the Muslim-American community.

Several lawmakers, including Sens. Edward M. Kennedy, Massachusetts Democrat, and John McCain, Arizona Republican, raised the issue last week in a closed briefing with Homeland Security Director Tom Ridge.John McCain? A war hero putting politics above national security?

1996... Kohbar, Riyad bombings, Olympic park bombing, 747 explodes in the sky.. yet it was the 1998 embassy bombings that put terrorism on clintons radar?
To: operation clinton cleanup
I hoped you would pick up on that. McCain is good at one thing, and one thing only, selling out. It has been his lifelong "lifestyle choice".

Uh-huh, and if he had not been a cowering, clueless, self asorbed traitor, had he taken decisive action after any one of those atrocities we might not have lost our people on the U.S.S. Cole much less all those innocents on 9-11.

Hey, you're preaching to the choir, Swerve. He should have been charged with his wife, he is just as guilty.

"Mentoring" interns was on his radar screen in 95-96... not to mention re-election and coffee clatches.

I wouldn't say he is just as guilty - but he is a total failure. I came inside from the yard and saw him on the TV and was shocked at his continuing defense of Andrea and eplaining her difficulty in getting well, as if anyone should give a flying fig. She shouldn't even be alive.
She murdered 5 innocent, helpless children - HIS children, and he failed to protect them and he failed to seek justice.
However, his warped concept of justice and forgiveness should have had no bearing on the court. The justice system owes America a just society, and the Yates represent injustice of dangerous proportions, magnified each time one of them gains an ounce of sympathy from the news media and its consumers.
We live in a state of injustice, and no one, especially a child, is safe in such a twisted environment.

Saying that she killed them is like saying a gun killed someone. She was simnply a weapon in his hand. He had completely taken over the volitional parts of her mind. This is the kind of guy who enjoys pulling the wings off flies. He just kept pushing and pushing at her, knowing she was weak and would break, just to see how it would happen.
He is a sociopath, a complete narcicist

Yep. He's the founder of the Blue-dress Wing of the leftist party. A blue dress democrat.

His wife should have been committed to an institution long ago, and kept away from the children completely. But she is manipulative and cunning and sneaky. Anrea Yates is responsible for her own actions that she plotted for months and carried out in secret, while pretending to be helpless and benign so her mother-in-law would do the daily work and she could wallow in her evil musings. She made herself into a sympathetic figure, but I have no sympathy for her. She is evil. It is sexist to suggest she isn't.
