Has Padilla received the due process he is entitled to as a enemy combatant? More than he's entitled to from the looks of it.

OK. I just got thru reading a book about the Flying Tigers. But OTOH, wouldn't it be kinda kool if some of our less desirable citizens left here and went and joined the Al Qaida. We might get the whole Berkeley and Harvard faculty with one B-52 flying over Khost, Afghanistan. Oh, that's probably just a fantasy. parsy.

Well, what a snappy comeback. You got me!

We may be out of style, you know?
Well, yeah.. But if it pisses Quannell "X" and his little band of black pajamma'd schmucks off it's worth it.

By the way -- Unless I am mistaken, Congressman Ron Paul
did NOT authorize any "war". Rather, Congressman Ron Paul said that the only way to avoid a horrific Constitutional FUBAR was to formally declare War... otherwise, we have our Nationalist Heads up our Constitutional Arse. On Bush's Illegal Undeclared War: Congressman Ron Paul, 10-29-2001

The Honorable Congressman is absolutely correct! He's the only man in congress with the integrety to be there.

I am in favor of War against those who kill Americans.
In fact, I agree with Ron Paul -- formal War is the ONLY Right and Constitutional way to do a Federal Military war-Operation. (anything short of War is grounds for Marque and Reprisal).
Let all things be done decently and in order. (first Epistle of Saint Paul to the Corinthians, ch 14 vs 40)

Jose Padilla has already been convicted of killing a man.
Then he never should have been let out. He was a minor at the time. American justice was sensitive to his rights. This is the thanks we get. CONTEMPT. Your softheaded stance is laughable to him. He would sneer and call you a mere woman.

But what if they...............er........uh...never mind. I can SEE them in this! I can!

An earlier post of mine was met with a comment by sneakypete that if I didn't believe in legislating morality I didn't belong in the Republican party. That is true. The Republican Party is SUPPOSED to stand for individual freedoms. You ain't free when other people have the right to force THEIR morality on you using the force of law.
If the party becomes the right-wing-fundamentalist-Christian-Republicans-only-allowed, you can guarantee that more Clintons, Dasholes, and worse will maintain or regain power.
Please make up your mind which side of this arguement you are on. I DO thank you for making my point, though.

So the thousands of innocent American civilians he slaughtered in the sneak attack don't matter? No, they don't matter to sneakypete. They're dead, and they didn't die at the hands of the federal government. Why should they matter?
They were mere grist for Osama bin Laden's "more successful" attack. Bill Maher tought the terrorists demonstrated bravery, a quality to be applauded; apparently sneakypete agrees.
When Osama and his ghouls set off a 10 kilton bomb in San Francisco, sneakypete will yawn . . . . until Ashcroft catches one of the conspirators and threatens to put him on trial. Then--WHOA BABY!--sneakypete will be on the job 24/7 like stupid on a liberal, criticizing and castigating Ashcroft for all manner of imagined denials of due process.
To: sneakypete
Oh goodness, every gov't forces morality on its citizens. It has to or we wouldn't have a society. Even a libertarian society would have to force morality on its citizens. parsy.

Quote of the day!

Ron Paul did vote to authorize the use of military force WITHOUT a declaration of warIn a specific context, yes.
It was NOT a blank check, so let's not pretend it was.
The nice thing about Ron Paul is, alone among Congressmen, he NEVER signs a blank check.
Ever.
To: RedBloodedAmerican;Fred Mertz
BTW, who cares what you thinkI do. As do most of the real Americans out there.

"President Bush now has the challenge to do something equally courageous and wise. This is necessary if we expect to avert a catastrophic World War III. When the President asks for patience as he and his advisors deliberate, seeking a course of action, all Americans should surely heed his request. Mr. Speaker, I support President Bush and voted for the authority and the money to carry out his responsibility to defend this country ..." --Ron Paul
