I've been in Minnesota once (the land of 10,000 lakes and 1,000 fish) when I was herding a bunch of scouts in the northern tier (we snuck across the border during the night in canoes.  Not the smartest thing to do in a strange land during a moonless night, but we made it back to camp alright) a few years ago.  I was amazed at how warm the water in the lakes was - especially after the rather chilly freezer that passed for lake Superior.

But to make a long story short, in one of the lakes we saw a dead moose - smelled like somebody cut the cheese.

You could actually drink the water directly out of the lakes (except where the moose was).  Now that was a strange experience.

Hotdish must have a crunchy top layer. Usually corn flakes or crushed potatoe chips. The fancy hotdish has those fried onion ring things on top.

Oh, my God. My arteries are clogging just thinking about this.

I was raised in the Arrowhead, not to turn this into a chat subject or anything I'll keep it short, drinking directly from the clean water lakes is ok,but not recomended, especially the young and elderly, but, the safest way to do this is from the middle of the lake, rather than from the shoreline.Less parasites.I just boil it when I'm out.

Your moose find was probably a victim of a last ice tradgedy,or just plain old age, then again it could have bit someones sister from Ely.....

Your right a grievance should have never been filed. Thats a product of bad stewardship. My guess is that the grievance process gave you the chance to tell your side and now things work for the better from both sides. That is the way its supposed to work. If not work to fix it.
