This lady who wrote the book really does have a point. When you are in a relationship with somene of the opposite sex, it doesn't really make sense to pick about everything they do that bugs you, because it just gets to be sensory overload and eventually he resents it and then the woman wonders why he tunes out when he's home.
It's when I stopped picking about the non important stuff and yeah, that was hard... but that's when I started to see him for how wonderful he really is, and it gave me more credibility to get the important stuff acted upon.

I bet the author would say if you are complaining about something that he views as unimportant as which way the toilet paper roll is on or whether he leaves dirty clothes on the floor too much, then complaining about his attitude toward pictures of naked women is going to look just the same in importance to him. The point of the book, I believe (I heard her interviewed on the local talk shows here) is to choose your battles and be straightforward (which is not the same as "in your face." like the feminists love...)

Good for you. :-) Always nice to hear of newlyweds after decades of marriage.
(just one decade here for me and Cyrano)
To: TxBec
Nah, that's just a typical greyhound expression. Could mean "I'm happy," or "I'm sad," or "Same as it ever was."
To: Sam Cree
You know I meant by newlyweds I should have said Honeymooners. Not as in Alice and Ralph...

Vocal about what? See post 11.

Rich, fun loving & borderline nympho
Who can Cook, clean, bear children
field strip her own weapon.
P. S. Send picture of weapon.

Well if you could see how bloody bad looking I am (and yet happily married to a WONDERFUL incredibly intelligent witty guy who girls were falling all over themselves for in front of me) you might think twice.
In fact, the only women who didn't like my husband were snotty women who seemed to gravitate toward macho jerks who later they badmouthed.
To: TxBec;Utah Girl
He will hate that I said that too (about how I think I look).
To: Sungirl
Nope.....you would have to have said it in the same post with the anti-marriage comments......but thanks for trying anyway.........
To: Tennessee_Bob
Three guesses....
To: Terriergal
Yes, and I hate it too! You are NOT bad looking at all! In fact you are a very attractive woman........you better stop that crap or I'll have to, well, I don't know what I'll do.....lol.....(You stop that right now!)
To: Sungirl
You win right? What? No way - we can't win against you.
So, why do you "look at marriage as a weakness?"
To: Terriergal
Here...I made a video to answer this ad....don't spread it around though OK? Just submit it for me.... LOL...
