My biggest wishes that NFC Chat fails to provide are markup commands in chat (B, I, FONT COLOR, etc) and voice chatting.
But go ahead and give this a spin anyway.

It's okay I guess (though, like all Java applets, takes forever to load and execute), but I'm wondering why we couldn't just have an IRC channel or something instead.
Also, I *really* don't like how anyone can log in under any Freeper's name; the password field appears to be irrelevant.

Just tried Beta Chat with a Mac running MacOS 9.1 and it seemed to run fine...set up a room, talked to myself a while, and left.

Bummer, chat client doesn't work behind my companies firewall. Not your problem though, I can't use any chat programs. Could be the port number 7777. I was using it from home yesterday and it worked pretty well.

Seemed to work okay. I created a room, and talked to myself for a while. Tried out all of the buttons, couldn't quite figure out the "emoticon" function. Win2000Pro, IE 5.5
