good morning. I've got my coffee, but its decaf. *sigh* I don't even feel like starting off with a good rant. It is a gorgeous day, however, will probably be in the 70's today! One of my roses is growing buds already. It is a vintage rose, a La Reine, and is soo beautiful. I get some photos when it is open. It has an absolutly wonder smell, it is a deep pinkish mauve. The variety dates back to the mid-1800's, not a modern rose.

Oh, those old-fashioned roses are so beautiful. The fragrance of old roses and lilacs is incomparable. To catch a whiff must have been a real lifesaver in the days when people did not wash frequently. Flowers in the summer heat may have been a sensory necessity for the nose as much as the eyes.

Good morning, Cheri....roses....love them...and carnations...and tulips.....and, of course, my lilacs.

Now that I don't have livestock anymore and the neighbors on either side don't, I should be able to start getting rose bushes again!

I have a wild rose bush in front of my bay window.....that thing is wall to wall roses when it starts blooming.....and they keep coming on for a long time.....of course, the petals seem to fall a lot sooner than domesticated roses....but I like them.

Lucianne Goldberg (can I say her name here?) was on the local morning am talk show this morning, telling this story. It was actually pretty interesting, even though I won't go to TOS since I was unceremoniously banned.

I'm pretty sure Davis's days in office are numbered (a nice low number) ... maybe he and his good bud Condit will go into a lobbying partnership.

Yes, it is healing. Stitches are out and physical therapy starts next week. I am still in a sling, but at least I can type a little instead of using one hand. And can take the sling off to shower.

Good morning! Yes, roses are wonderful! I also love lilacs, and miss them, since they don't grow well in this climate. But I can grow camellias and azaleas and other lovely things!

Davis is a money-grubbing machine. He has a "war chest" of some $50 mil. Simon had best get the hoover out and start grubbing! I'll have to send him a check soon.

My dad was an accountant and hated it. I can't imagine being one. God bless them.

Maybe as you work in physical therapy for this shoulder, your other shoulder will improve so much it won't need surgery. (Can you tell I am not a doctor? *LOL*)

Its my understanding the lilacs need the colder climatic change...although I did have a cluster of lilac bushes in Corona, in southern California. A couple of professional landscapers advised us not to try to move them from where they were on the property because apparently all conditions were just right for them where they were. We had wanted to reinovate the whole front yard.....but that planter area we never touched--except to spruce up and cut blossoms for the house.

Right by my bedroom window I have a large size lilac tree--the deep purple....oh what a heavenly scent--even with my lousy 'smeller' I can smell it.

Maybe as you work in physical therapy for this shoulder, your other shoulder will improve so much it won't need surgery.

That has happened to both shoulders a number of times over the years when the tendons were partially torn, but now the tendons from the muscles are no longer attached to the bones in the arm. They have to be re fastened. The left one is now fll of scrrews and wire.

Orthopedic surgeons are basically carpenters! Highly paid ones, however. Having had hardware installed in an ankle, and ligaments removed in a knee, I can appreciate their craft.
