Well, the schools where I am, that I know about, are not nearly in the condition where I could fairly use the words "endangering", "front lines" or "sacrifice our children". It is a matter of degree. There may be some areas that deserve that kind of language, and yes, I have seen some of the examples posted here. I wish taxpayers got involved whether their children were attending the schools or not, but as a practical matter, they don't.

especially glazed or frosted donuts, bear claws and the like... Looks like it's safe to come out and play Bear...
HOTD, I understand the sugar thing, but Krispy Kremes can be pretty irresistable.

Remember the
Farmer Giles of Ham story I was telling you about? Well I looked at the book last night and it also has a story called
Smith of Wooten Major. Ever hear of that one?

There is no reason that taxpayers in a community can't demand, whether their children are in the school or not, that the school their taxes support have high standards and accountability. The demand has been made here with the response from the school system being "my way or the highway." It's becoming routine for taxpayers to vote down school bonds but it hasn't changed a thing. So more and more people are opting for the "highway."

Institutional school for anyone under the age of 13 isn't natural. Primary and elementary school is a cultural abomination. If I had that on a bumper sticker, I'd slap it on my car right now!
Older kids, teenagers and adults should go to school for one purpose only. To take a class. They don't need a sense of community in class. There are plenty of other places they can find it, and I am sure they would if they were just given the opportunity. We are paying a fortune for kids to have some sort of social life handed to them at school.
I know, I'm bull-headed and opinionated. You should hear my thoughts about brassieres.

I am not normally a breakfast eater, but when Krispy Kremes are involved.....

You should hear my thoughts about brassieres. Now, now, this is a family friendly(mostly) thread. Someday your children may stumble in here. I know one day at home my daughter and I were reading along on this thread and the talk turned to marijuana and drug use. She mentioned that to my wife and she gave me one of those withering looks that you women are so good at.
