Thanks especially for the Sean Astin interview... He sounds like a nice guy!

I'm an American. I'm a patriot. I believe in my country, I support my president regardless of my own partisan idealogy. I want to live in a safe country, in a safe world. I don't know what the leaders know. That's pretty classy. Vigs should take note.
To: Lil'freeper
It sounded like my own view a bit, when I read that! I didn't catch the dates of these articles... I don't know if these statements are part of the damage control behind Viggo or not!
To: JameRetief
Most of the Hobbit Hole folk read back through the posts to catch up! - Thanks for the articles... There was some discussion of the Time article a a couple weeks back. The two main articles were posted as threads...
To: HairOfTheDog
I'd like to hope he's genuinely classy. I also like the way he speaks highly of his family- says a lot about a man.
To: JameRetief
I enjoyed glancing at the interviews, haven't had a chance to read the rest. Thanks.
To: Lil'freeper
Vigs seems OK in some of the interviews I've seen on DVD. But politically, he's definitely the dummy of the group. Some of the rest are more on the ball, for sure.
Nice reading about Astin, though, I think his qualities shone thru to the "Sam" character, too.

Morning all...grumble, grumble, grumble...
I'm okay, really. Just that I got everyone up 30-60 minutes earlier and I was still the one that was late to work because wife didn't have time to dress the little one and Jr. forgot his lunch money so I had to run by the school.
THEN I get to work and find out I have a meeting at 9:30 (I gotta hurry). Trying to remember what horrid sin I must've committed in a previous life to have car trouble and THIS meeting in the same week...
Sigh...back later.

I enjoy the magazine articles but I certainly hope that all the WRITERS on this thread will chime in with their own reviews after seeing TTT.

Good morning!
Breakfast sandwiches again, sorry. Scrambled eggs, bacon and cheese. There's sausage patties if you like, as well. Of course, the coffee is brewed and the oranges juiced so help yourself!
Corin - I knew you would read through the posts, but my comments would be ancient history by the time you got to them so the punishment would not be as severe! Besides, didn't you read my lovely masterpiece of compliments on the dwarves? :)
Jame - thanks for posting all of this great stuff. It will take me a while to wade through it, but I did read Sean Astin's (*swoon*) interview. Very classy statement he made ("I'm an American.."). He seems way too logical to be a Dem, so maybe he's a small "l" libertarian instead.
OK, I know that a mini-moot is scheduled for January 25th in South Florida, but I know nothing about Entmoot for 2004 yet. Any tentative details or is that conversation for the next Hobbit Hole thread?
To: Corin Stormhands
Good Morning!
You need a Ray of Sunshine!
To: RMDupree
We don't know the details for Entmoot yet... Will probably be next January in Florida.... We are gonna settle on a date sometime in the next few weeks, after the movie excitement is over, and we can vote again in the Yahoo HH.
Somewhere around here is a post from ksen where he listed the top four dates from the last vote, or you can look at the results in the Yahoo HH Polls area!
To: HairOfTheDog
Thanks Hair. I'll be sure to check it out a little later! ;)

I enjoy the magazine articles but I certainly hope that all the WRITERS on this thread will chime in with their own reviews after seeing TTT. It was a dark and stormy movie....
To: Overtaxed
It was a dark and stormy movieTHAT is an acceptable beginning. However, NO "awesome movie" "_____is so cute"(that's a given) or "I can't say or it will spoil it"! I want spoilers, vivid descriptions, AND any complaints (that leaves out Hair, as she is much too kind and I suspect is Peter Jackson's daughter/sister/3rd cousin once removed?...just kidding) I mean, if you guys can write 300,000 words per day on what you term 'cr*p', you SHOULD use your talents to enlighten and entertain fellow hole dwellers.
To: NewCenturions
It was a dark and stormy movie. However some comic relief was provided when one frilly-armored elf took a dive off the wall at Helms Deep emitting one long girlie scream.
To: Overtaxed
Don't forget about the Legolas "surfing" down the wall of Helm's Deep.
That's one scene that will leave me shaking my head, unless it goes by so quickly and in the midst of such relentless action, I won't have to time to ponder over it long.
...Now, the screaming elf will undoubtedly have me stifling my laughter! And it's all your fault! :)
To: RMDupree
Don't forget about the Legolas "surfing" down the wall of Helm's Deep. ...and the scene where Legolas surfs down the stairs needed only the presence of a modern day Annette Funicello to be complete.....Always happy to be of service. :)

Elf blanket bingo?
