Corin,
The missionary lady that was gunned down the other day in Lebanon was with Christian Missionary Alliance and was a graduate of Moody College. Don't you attend a CMA church?

y'welcome...
Motor Transport School is at Ft Leonard Wood MO...(about 45 minutes from our new property) the Marine and Army schools are combined there...
He must be a reservist? Motor-T at 3d Force!? Well, come to think of it, I think they do have a few trucks and HMMWVs...
To: ksen
Yep, Zealot, that's me!
You can't get a decent smokey flavor from a gas grill.
To: Overtaxed
I said I'd never give up charcoal, but a gas grill is convenient... I don't own a gas grill now... been leary about gettin' one...
To: g'nad
Very cool place g'nad.... Very cool indeed! That will be a very neat place for your kids to grow up! Gonna get them a pony?

That's a great looking house...did I miss what state it's in? Around Quantico, I guess. I love the interior beams.
Looks like some deer would be around there, too.
To: g'nad
We've had a gas grill for a long while now, works good, makes tasty food. But food cooked on a charcoal grill is better yet, IMHO. Noticably better.

He must be a reservist? At least until it gets hot in Iraq. Wouldn't 3d Force be one of the first to go?

Morning! Can't really tell for sure how the day will shape up...
So far so good!
Need to go out and let the ponies out. They are hungry and fidgeting out there probably!
To: ksen
Hey ksen...Are you guys supposed to avoid theatres? I know you went over it awhile back, but I forgot what the rationale was. Not being critical, just curious.
I mostly avoid them for the simple reason that most movies kind of suck, and I can find something more worthwhile to do, tho that's not really a "moral" logic.
Clearly FOTR is pretty inspiring.

There is a horse barn....
To: Sam Cree
Missouri, Lebanon, MO... Laclede County... plan to retire there...deer and turkey are thick... 100 acres, three food plots, two ponds and a spring fed drick...
To: Sam Cree
drick...= Crick...
To: g'nad
Well then you absolutely must get them a pony! And a couple for you and Mrs. G'nad. I remember she is the horse-person in the match right?
To: g'nad
I dunno how I feel when a church goes to that extreme... I've found that the focus shifts (for some of the cast) from glorifying God, to glorifying self... human nature... and not uncommon in people who like to perform... You do have to be careful. But for us it is a real ministry. Moreso at Christmas time than Easter since the non-church goers are more likely to come to a Christmas program.
But the leadership of our church has always been very careful to keep the focus in the proper place. In some years, they have stepped back and not done the production for that very reason. Particularly at Easter when we realized that we were reaching only the church community. And our Minister of Fine Arts is very committed to not hindering the worship aspect of our regular services.
That said, I'll freepmail you the details.
To: g'nad
Really great. I hadn't known your property included a house. Hope you can start spending time there soon.
Good about the spring fed creek. What are the trees in the pics?
To: Sam Cree
To be honest, I'm not sure of the rationale to avoid theatres. I think it has to do with "avoiding even the appearance of evil". After all, nobody knows what movie you are seeing and someone could assume you are going to watch some pretty raunchy movies.
I don't know if I buy that reasoning. If that is truly the reason then Christians should not go to video rental stores (where you can find much worse than is what is in the theatre), should not have tv's in their homes, and should definitely not have internet connections in their homes.
I think it is something that began many years ago and has just been kept up as a tradition. But like I said, it is request our church has made of its Deacons so it is not my place to break it just because I don't agree with it.
I didn't have to accept the nomination, but I did, so know I must abide by the requirements set forth by our congregation.
Don't worry about me thinking you are being critical. If someone has a question about why I do the things I do, or don't do, I don't mind answering.
