Yeah. Nothing like a shower and a shave to help you feel up to facing your destiny. You ought to try it, Aragorn. ;^)

Now if we could only get him to question his hygiene... yeah... and I oughtta know...
To: ksen
This is so surreal! - it is odd to take something so familiar and change it around!
To: 2Jedismom
PJ put in the "He feels fair, but looks foul" comment. It was great. ;^)

I agree with you and newCenturions on maybe using the conflicted (maybe that is a better word for Aragorn than maturing into kingship) Aragorn to playup Arwen. I think it is uncalled for. Liv Tyler makes a beautiful Arwen, but she is being forced into the scenes and she doesn't belong.
To: HairOfTheDog
...surreal....That is a good word for it. Do you think the new scenes "mesh" with the movie alright? I thought they did for the most part.

I think everyone should just sit down and not worry so much about Arwen! She'll be fine!
Have a pint and a seedcake...

And there is maturity and then there's the maturity of office/of duty/etc. So he didn't put "Led the forces of Gondor in the defeat of the Umbar pirates" on his resume?

You are a calming influence...and I am an example of what can go wrong when you mix too much coffee with too much tea.
(but I still think PJ must have a crush on Liv Tyler!)

It is still so new! I'm on sensory overload!
I think the opening explanation was good... I am trying to watch it through and see everything that is new once first with a minimum of "whoa! backup!"
To: ksen; Corin Stormhands
Give your brother dwarf mouth-to-mouth, help him to breathe! no thanks... I'd rather swallow my own tongue...
To: ksen; g'nad
Give your brother dwarf mouth-to-mouth, help him to breathe! Sometimes I worry about you ksen. Besides I don't have the new DVD yet either...
You're the one with the resources...

I'm not the one who wrote Aragorn like that. If it were up to me, I would have left him the same as he was in the book. I was saying that I understand what PJ was trying to do in creating the tension of a conflicted Aragorn coming into the maturity of his office.

And he lied on poor Smeagol.

I am sooooo jealous. I have to wait till amazon decides to send us our copy. I can't wait till I get to see it. I already know that I will enjoy it even more then the original.
To: HairOfTheDog
Nah! It's too much fun bashing Arwen. :) BTW, I think Liv Tyler is beautiful in the role. So, I don't mind seeing more of her...
I just don't like when certain characters have their roles enlarged (not just here, but in other movies/plays too). There is an awkardness that develops in the scenes... something not quite right.
I'll have to see how Arwen plays in TTT... but, in FOTR, I thought her increased role did not detract from the story at all...

But Smeagol forgives. Yes, kind, compassionate Smeagol!
