Just got back from Thursday music night. We had a pretty good time, though as usual I sounded wayyy lousy compared the the way I sound in my own living room, alone, with only my cats and dog to hear me. Sigh! Ain't that always the way?

And now I have 800 words of crap to produce in the next hour. ;-) Most of it is STILL basically prologue type stuff, but TOMORROW the real breakthroughs come into play. Woo-hoo!

Oh...there! Not quite...got a little less than 600 words to go. I'll get there. But I'm getting sick of break-ins and people tailing my characters and such like that. Kind of old.

At least I like Drew now. I made him crankier and more sarcastic than he comes across at first. He's much cooler that way.

No. Maybe an hour and a half total. I do most of my writing in my head and then try to get it on paper, which doesn't really work out the way I'd like, but...

And of course, now that I'm so close, I'm kinda stuck 'cause I'm not sure what to do. If someone broke into your apartment, would you stay there that night if you were a big strong guy? Or would you be shaken up enough to go find a hotel room or such like?

When my brother was burglarized I went up there and spent that night. He was creeped out enough to want company!

Well...he doesn't have many friends or family, so I think he's gonna have to go find a room. I just can't see him staying there, though I'm not sure what to do with him. I guess he'll go check in at a Holiday Inn or something and hope no one traces him. You can't check in without ID anymore, can you, even paying cash? i.e. in order to use a false name?

I had a supervisor once who packed a handgun even when she was outside doing yard work.

Why is he hiding his identity? I am not caught up with the story, so I don't get that part....

I would think, though, that if the bad guys ransacked his place, they would have taken any weapons they found. I suppose he could have a gun safe, but since he's supposed to be in NY...I don't know how realistic that would be. ;-)

Maybe the hotel route is a better one, though I don't like him having to check in with his real name.

Yeah - if they are after HIM, not just a regular break in to steal his stuff, then I suppose he should not stay there. If it was just a burglary, then he wouldn't have that much reason not to stay.
