Well, it's started. And I can still do it if I write around 2100 words a day (or put in overtime on the weekends.) I guess I'm getting crap-averse in my old age. :) Maybe I should start throwing pens around the room.

No wait. That's what musicians do.

Good morning! Well...our weather is a bit colder than yours, Sam! There's plenty of snow on the ground, and I doubt the temps will get out of the 30's today. Probably low 30s, at that. And it's blowing like crazy!

I'm heading up to the post office in a sec to mail out another job application. The place I'm applying to actually has an opening! Yay! That'll be the second actual OPENING I've applied for. Keepin' my fingers crossed...

They do? I hadn't heard that before. However, since I HAVE been known to throw things when ticked off, I guess I'll claim that as an excuse...

Congrats on getting started! Meanwhile I'm worrying because I'm getting to the end of the stuff I had thought out and I'm not even a quarter of the way there. I have the ending figured out, but I STILL don't have a middle. I sure hope I can come up with 30,000 words of crap to fill it in!

They do? I hadn't heard that before.

With two musicians in the house (well....three. But Mom had gotten over the throwing stage) I gave up my music critic career at an early age. :)

We had...let's see, what was the maximum number? I think five at one time, maybe? But if almost everyone ELSE is a musician, too...well, you probably don't want to start anything. ;-)

Dad and one of my brother used to get into long, loud arguments over interpretation and notation rules. Then we started playing as a group and one of the guys would record our practice sessions. Dad was surprised at how much arguing they really did!

LOL!

I'd say brass instruments are the worst. Harder to damage than wood ones, ya know, so people aren't as careful with 'em.

I suppose it was possible to get hit by a flying violin or bow but then the offending musician would be in verrrry deep doodoo.

Here's a self portrait in charcoal I did for figure drawing class homework. I can't go deer hunting this fall, but clearly my mind is still doing it.

You can shoot them, though.

Herne the Hunter?

You can always shoot them

Another deep doodoo territory!

But don't think I didn't consider it.

Never heard of Herne 'til you mentioned him just now. Apparently an Anglo Saxon mythological entity. Seems like this type of character existed in Celtic tradition, too.

See you guys later, have to go out for awhile. Had to go find my sweatshirt for the first time this year, to handle this weather ;-)

Sam, that portrait is awesome! Very nice.

Have you guys heard that there are a couple people in NY who have been diagnosed with the Bubonic Plague? I just heard Glenn Beck talking about it on the radio.

OT, you're the resident scientist, should we be worrying? Should we be drinking an extra cup of green tea every day?

Here is a story posted on FR about it last night.
