I'm extracting a fungicide and one of its metabolites from a muscle tissue and I didn't recover any metabolite from the spiked samples. WAAHHHHHHH!

So experiment #2....just where did I lose it?

Good morning everyone!

I am up! - Or sipping some coffee and trying to be!

I have a meeting this morning. Better getamoveon.

I read your ping on the other thread g'nad. I have a friend since early high school who is a Lesbian... and her Dad is an ordained minister in one of the presb. variants. They have come to terms, and he welcomes her and her lifestyle. I don't know how that works, as I know nothing about his theology on the matter. He is retired now, and it could be that he is that liberal in his thinking, it could be that he just has no choice but to accept his daughter. She has a spirituality she is comfortable with, and I am not one to know who really gets into heaven better than she or her Dad.

Good morning everyone!

I had a really busy weekend and am almost glad to be back at work! Boss is back though, so I'll be popping n and out all day. :)

I can't wait to read your "works in progress"!!!

Breakfast - ham and cheese omelets, bacon and sausage, sauteed mushrooms, ice old milk and orange juice, lots and lots of coffee. Grab some biscuits along with all of that and ENJOY!

Good morning! Ruthie and thanks for the breakfast!

g'nad, I have had a little bit more coffee now, and I now no longer am happy with my paragraph above....

I had been friends with this girl for over ten years when she became gay, and she and I have since then been through a few different pendulum swings that friendships endure, or don't. My feelings about my friend are more complex and less wishy washy than they sound there, but I don't have a whole lot of time to fight with the language and try to get the words to say what I mean this morning. Prayers for you and the person in your life that has chosen this path!

I saw an image from what looked like RotK, which showed Sam holding a little girl, presumably his Elanor.

Rumors are abundant about RotK, and I'm trying my best to not get involved, but I can't help it. Some are reporting that the Scouring of the Shire won't be in it, some are saying that Frodo & Bilbo's departure to the Grey Havens won't be in it also. If both of those are true, I don't know what to think...

Thanks Hair. I did a quick Google search on "return of the king countdown" and the only thing I found was some guy's cheesy one. It was just a line of text that had a countdown in it.

I thought I remember someone posting a RoTK one, 2J I think, but I can't find it anywhere.

If you are curious about it, we discussed this at as much length as we could (for what little we really know) over on the spoiler thread!

I have trust that the end will be done nicely, but it will not be the end we know already. PJ has been clear on that. It has to do with the nice climax of the end of the battle and the crowning of the king. Movie wise, I think they want to stop there, breath a sigh, say "then they lived happily ever after" and send everyone home. The book does come to what seems like an end, and you think its over, and then "wham" whole new sub-plot.

So while I don't know that the movie will pretend those things didn't happen, the movie may stop short of covering it.

I really have to go now! - I am late!

FYI from here:

TODAY IN TOLKIEN
Monday, Winterfilth the 24 using the Shire Reckoning.
3018--Frodo recovers and awakes.
3018--Boromir arrives in Rivendell.
Monday, November the 4, 2002 using the Gregorian Calendar

See? Even Boromir's mere arrival in Rivendell is enough to wake the Ringbearer from his near-death coma. ;^)

Hidy ho all....drumroll please...it's strep...

Got him an antibiotic. Then I called the Mrs. at work and told her to go directly to the doctor (do not pass go, do not collect $200 - well that would be okay).

Looks like I'm home all day. If he naps without me holding him, I'll write some more...

I don't know if I believe all of it. I don't believe Arwen is sleeping here. I think it is when she lies down and dies. Look at the place...it's shabby and abandoned...leaves all over the place. We know that scene is supposedly in the movie, because we hear about Aragorn saying farewell to her...

http://www.elvish.org/gwaith/movie_elvish.htm

"Arwen: Law, hîr nín, ú dollen i Rîw. Anírach, nui lû, gwannad uin gwaith lín?

Arwen: 'No, my lord, the winter hasn't come. Do you wish, before the time, to leave your people?'

law adv 'no, indeed not'; cf. Quenya lá, lau, laumë; LA-, UGU-.
hîr n. 'lord'.
nín pron. 'my'.
ú dollen v. pret. 'hasn't come'.
i Rîw n. 'the winter'; lenited form of Rhîw.
anírach v. pres. 'you wish'; cf. agorech 'you did'
nui prep. 'before the'; no 'under, *before' + i 'the'
lû n. 'time'
gwannad inf. 'to depart, to leave'
uin prep. 'from the'
gwaith n. 'people'
lín pron. 'your'
