I may need to start making a distinction between book elf and movie elf.
I just read "Flight to the Ford" last night. In that chapter Glorfindel, even though he has the name of a sissy, kicked Black Rider butt(or for those west of the Mississippi, kicked Black Rider butte).

Yeah, a lot of stuff changes from the book to the movie. Aragorn gets all touchy-feely, for one...though he reserves the ability to kick Black Rider butt.

Yeah, but did he muss up his hair?I don't think so, it seems he had applied plenty of mousse beforehand. Although it was kind of funny seeing him try to apply his makeup as he ran down to engage to Nazgul. ;^)
