But it was worth it so I could get my last paper done for one of my classes. They are now in the mail and winging their way to Pensacola.

So did I Rosie! I should have gone straight to sleep, but was so keyed up over this chess set business that I had to read for a while to calm down. I just finished The Two Towers the other day, but I went ahead and re-started it.

You're a better man than me. I'm still taking my classes as continuing education (going for a certificate rather than degree - that comes later). So, I'm not on a class deadline, which of course means that I'm not meeting my (self-imposed) schedule.

I still don't have my books back...my brother and sister have all of 'em except The Hobbit (which I have TWO copies of...that makes sense, no?)

I still want a hardback set. And THAT set will NOT be lent out!

Oh yeah! I just noticed the Hole texts the other day. I do have a laptop, actually. It's not the same, though. I like books, the older and mustier the better!

Having all my books in one little device would simplify housekeeping, though, I have to admit...

And it would do in a pinch...I am afraid I could not do without my books around! LOL At the very least, I might have to dash down to Walmart and buy some of those disgusting cheapies with the Shelly Shapiro (gag, spit) maps in them.

I'm definitely suffering from withdrawal...especially without the appendixes (sp?) in ROTK. I didn't know about the books being in the Yahoo Hobbit Hole, so I've REALLY been suffering at times, with no books to look things up in at odd moments.

It came! Already! And I can play a mean Hot Cross Buns too! A B G, A B G, GGGG BBBB, A B G. I love it! My wonderful one says, if I practice, she will get me a really good one for my birthday (in November). I am motivated to practice to be able to accompany my son who is learning the Of Hobbits theme for the piano. Maybe by Spring.... Thanks!
